Christmas in July
Don Dixon, Volatile Baby and Snagglepuss.... Oh Yeah. Yesterday was the first day of shooting for the Queen City Christmas show. As always we shoot the Christmas stuff in July. Don Dixon did a tune with Jim Brock. Don always cracks me up. He always gives me a hug. It doesn't matter where I see him, I always get a hug. So yesterday I grabbed the overhead M/S drum mic that we rigged up last week and headed into the studio. There weren't any audio crew members around but Don was there. I gave him a tiny wave and the next thing I know he's moving in for his hug, but yesterday he added a kiss on the cheek. Like I said he always cracks me up.
Volatile Baby is doing their rehearsals now. It sounds really pretty. My job is to ride the input levels and make sure no one clips the pre-amps. Next week I'll be putting mics on the artists.
I may not be doing a whole lot but I'm having fun. :)
