So it's official! Got my paperwork back from NECA today, along with my nice little plasticy license card thingy! That's been YEARS in the doing, but finally got my bum into gear last year and went and did the bridging subjects I needed, then sorted out the various references I needed in the last couple of months, and now FINALLY I'm licensed to do comms cabling :)
Also had a chat to the lecturer at CIT about what I need to do to get my Electrical License.. That one's gonna be kinda tricky, but I think I can swing it.. - Basically need to find a licensed electrician who's looking for a comms cabler to work with occasionally for four years.. - The idea being that I subcontract to him doing comms cabling (working weekends, etc, so it doesn't interfere with my normal job), and then go through the process of becoming his 'apprentice', and then I also do electrical cabling under his supervision, plus go along and do night school occasionally at CIT over that 4 year period. Will take some work, but dammit, I want my electrical license too ;)
Got the bike all ready for the trip up to Walcha on friday.. Jeeeebus those Metzeler tires dissappear quickly - got less than 1mm of tread left on the rear, though there's 5mm of tread on the outsides, so I'll wait till after the trip to replace it.. - Even with the centre almost bald, nothing I did would make it let go in the wet on monday, so it should be ok :) Wont' be putting the same tires on it again though - want some kinda dual-compound, so it's a little harder in the middle, but still plenty sticky on the outsides.. We'll see :)
