Kaboom!
Argh! got woken up around midnight by a pop, then a long pssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh sound! lay in bed for a few seconds going 'wtf was that?', then realised - my heater had exploded!!
I've got this little oil column heater in my bedroom that i use in winter, cause the main heater doesn't reach all the way into the bedroom properly.. somehow it'd blown a little hole in the end and was spraying boiling oil into my wardrobe!
got it unplugged, then went to pick it up and carry it into the hallway.. then realised that by doing so i was spraying the oil ALLLLLL over the place. ARGH.. ended up getting a towel over it and carrying the sucker outside, then came back in to the damage.. OIL EVERYWHERE!!! since some of my clothes had been covered in oil, i just threw them on the floor to soak up the rest, then went back to bed..
Got up this morning picked everything up, threw it in the laundry, then gave the carpet a liberal coating of scotchguard stain remover, and headed off for work.. Got home after having dinner with the gang, and vacuumed it all up, and looks like having the carpet scotchguarded last time i got it cleaned was well worth the extra money - oil is almost completely gone! Gave it one more spray, and i'll vacuum that tomorrow.. fingers crossed!!
Hmm, the ZZR idea is really starting to grow on me... might do my tax on sunday and see how much of a return i'll be getting.. if i get enough of a refund, i'm getting the zedzed :)
Dinner tonight was great, had a good time, having friends is a Good Thing (TM)
