I love that icon too! It makes me giggle. Your icon is fab! I was waiting for that line in the movie and nearly cheered when he said it. :)

I'm happy you enjoyed the chapter. Teary? Yay! I'm trying to be good this time and get another chapter up sooner rather than later.

*squish* What a cute cute cute chapter. I loved the Lily dynamic--though I felt a little bad for Sirius because we girls really are impossible. And I like the way Mary thinks. I'm so sad for Sirius--I can't wait to find out about this Connor character! And I really, really loved the image this line created:

"...throw himself at the other man and kiss him until he became a part of him."

I see Lily as a bossy cow - she'd drive Sirius mad! I'm pleased you liked that line. It stayed even though I wasn't sure about it, so I'm glad I left it now! :)

Thanks hon!

Thanks, hon! *hugs* I was hoping the lack of smut didn't turn anyone off. :) Cheers for your comment!

*wipes a tear*

That's terrible.

Lily is so funny in this one.

‘And Black neatly, but not at all subtly sidesteps the question. But Potter is like a dog with a bone, chasing down answers…not afraid to use force to get what he wants…’

Brilliant!

And Sirius and Remus.... *sigh*

BUT WHY MUST THEY TAKE IT SLOW???? It is audience torture, I know it.

Okay. I submit. Don't care. This is too good :)

LOL! I almost hate it when they do give in and shag - all that delicious sexual tension gone. :(

I'm pleased you liked the chapter and Lily. Thanks for commenting, hon. *hugs*

How can you beat a line like that? Woman, you should be on some kind of register for dangerous fiction >:D

I like the way you have morphed the pure-blooded wizarding dynasty into the Plymouth Brethren. Wayta go. And, from personal experience, kinda scarily accurate (not exactly PB, but close enough).

I imagine Sirius saying 'Remus' to himself a lot, when on his own, the way Joe Orton says 'RADA' to himself in the mirror in 'Prick Up Your Ears'. Like the best idea ever in the world, but probably unattainable. Like the Kingdom of Oz, or Heaven, I guess.

Tenderness and intuition are exceptionally on-turning, and it is very gratifying to see you bring your skills to bear upon writing this sort of chapter. Both gestures require a kind of risk that writing all-out, horny-porny smut does not require. (And they make the inevitable horny-porny bit hotter when it, umm...comes.) Heh heh heh.

*hugs you tight* Thanks, hon! I'm very happy you liked that line. Lily tells it like it is!

I am worried about the cult aspect of it: I've not had much experience with them and am probably pulling every cliche out of the book about religious cults. It almost seemed obvious to have them part of a fanatical cult when I thought about how to translate the Black family from canon to AU.

I'm an insecure writer and often worry that smut is all anyone is going to be interested in reading from me. It is a risk for me - my ego particularly - to write plot without porn to fall back on for fear I'll fail miserably. It's hard to get inside someone else's head, but I felt this fic in a way I haven't felt the others. I'm seriously thrilled that you felt the emotion coming across as I was quite terrified that it wouldn't.

What actually constitutes a cult is very much in the eye of the beholder, I feel. Any organised religion has cultish aspects, or it could never survive. They all require some form of obedience. Perhaps it is obedience to a living, breathing person, rather than a mystical deity, that delineates a cult from a religion. I dunno. Take it from me, I have sat in church on several (of my final) occasions and wondered when I'd be tied up and chanted over. So, as far as I am concerned, you needn't worry at *all*. You got it just right, and the way Sirius seemed haunted by it was so spot-on it frightened me and brought back memories.

As for the risk-taking, I understand how you feel, even if my reasons are different. I am insecure about writing smut, but could spend all day writing about the contents of a character's head or heart. Every writer has an Achilles' Heel...but taking risks is how you find out how much you can do. Don't *ever* stop. Okay?

I do agree. Organised religions do have the slightly fanatic element that turn me right off. Sirius' experience became quite extreme so I'm hoping it doesn't push too far.

I'm trying to develop the weak areas of my writing - there are so bloody many - and I feel quite insecure when I post my efforts. I may fall flat on my face, but I'm learning to develop a thick skin I only cry for a day now!
