4 days until sign-ups close
Dear remixers and remixees,
I’m really thrilled with how many people are signing up for this round! Special thanks to those of you who’ve brought in new people by talking up the fest in your journals and fandom communities. Sign-ups stay open until Monday night.
I did a first attempt at matching tonight and in general things are working out to be pretty balanced between remixers and remixees. We have more people wanting to write Merlin, Supernatural, and Battlestar Galactica than offering their fics as remixees but we should still be able to work things out.
However, it would be really helpful if we could have a few more people sign up on either or both sides for Avatar the Last Airbender, Bleach, and/or Ouran High School Host Club. A few extra Pirates of the Caribbean and Gossip Girl sign-ups wouldn’t hurt either. So if you have any friends who are into those fandoms maybe you could nudge them for me. Or even point me toward the right comms for making announcements - when I go looking I mostly find icon comms.
Thank you for being specific about your fandoms, Doctor Who and X-Men fans especially!
Horatio Hornblower fans, is it necessary to distinguish between books and miniseries, or are people pretty flexible about that?
You'll make things a lot easier on your remixee if you have an actual fic listing, a link you can give us from which all you fics are linked. This is preferable to tags, especially if you have a lot of entries in a single fandom. Like me, I have 84 posts of LotR fic on my LJ, so if that were the only way for people to find my LotR fics they'd have to do a lot of clicking through just to find out what I'd done, whereas my fic index gives them an overview of everything in one place. If you need to update your listing or webpage, this would be a good time!
And speaking of fic listings, it's easiest for me if you paste in the bare URL into your sign-up rather than making a text link, since I’ll be cutting and pasting the information into the assignment e-mails later.
