I'm full into facebook world and my lj has suffered. Times are changin'. Updates -
I started a 20 week evening class yesterday covering the history of the Catholic Church. The first class was great and I've already learned a lot. I sat down at a table of ladies I've never met. After introductions, one woman didn't hesitate to ask if I use teeth whitener. I said no. She and the other ladies all buzzed about how lovely my teeth are. Well thank you. That was a bit strange, but also amusing.
This morning I was called for an interview next week for a job I applied for not even a week ago. I'm not sure I want the job so I don't exactly feel excited, but it is nice to know that in this state (where unemployment has been above 14% for some time) that I'm still marketable. If I get the job and take it, I'd probably start out at the same pay. The big difference is that I'd be able to work 40 hours a week again instead of the 32 I've had for some time. It would be a shorter commute too, so I'd save some time and gasoline. The catch is that I'm sure the job will be more stressful and demanding. I'll probably have to deal with some difficult people too. I'm so comfortable where I am now and I really don't mind not being challenged, but the extra cash would really help us out, especially as Aaron prepares to start school again in January.
Looks like I need to do some research on their programs over the next week. Meh.
My birthday is coming up and we'll be at a wedding the day of. Aaron's sister offered to throw me a bit of a shindig the night before, which is so sweet. And his mom is making me my favorite dinner too. The day after the wedding/birthday my family will all be together after Mass and before we head back up north. I'm very much looking forward to it, especially seeing my nephews, niece, and sister-in-law who is currently pregnant. Good times.
