It may not be a kickass brazier or anything, but I found quite the bargain today while out scrounging in the usual fashion. I have a tendency to meander through a little thrift shop called "Palouse Treasures" about once a month to see if they have any interesting things I cannot live without. I found many exciting things there today, including bedsheets covered in what appears to be a gargantuan repeating design from the corner of the American flag (yes, it's blue with big white stars but something about it just screams "FLAG!"). Also, there was a Readers Digest world atlas (a must have for any home), a fluffy coat for my sister, a sweeping gizmo "as seen on tv" AND... the treasure:
A pair of brand new, unscathed, immaculate Lugz... for 3 dollars, in mens size 13.
My very favorite uncle is a nitty gritty do-it-yourself bachelor rancher. He brews his own biodiesel in old washing machine basins, built his spacious and beautiful farmhouse entirely out of salvage materials, grows most of his food in the garden, and always has a fabulous collection of animal oddities wandering about his chaotically cluttered homestead. He is a wonder of thrift and economy, and a fantastic, hard working person - but he never... ever can afford nice boots. He wears a thirteen.
I am so happy.
