I played Halo on Xbox for the first time over the weekend. I don’t play a lot of videogames just because they don’t interest me as much as other things. So I went over to my friend’s place for a while and we played Halo online. Two Xboxes, one in two different rooms. We played on teams of two in a combat mode. It was similar to a James Bond game I’ve played before on Playstation, so I was familiar with the concept as well as well as the gameplay. It was a little difficult to move around though, which was the hardest. You must use both the analog joysticks to move. The first one is for side to side viewing and the other moves you around. It’s hard to get used to, especially at first. It was slightly frustrating, but once I got the hang of it the game is very enjoyable. I couldn’t quite compete on the level as everyone else, but it was just nice to be able to play something new, especially since the sequel is coming out this year. The weapon selection is incredible. It ranges from simple hand guns to rocket launchers. You can jump in tanks and run people over while shooting your weapons still. The strategy we found which worked best to get to 50 kills first (that was the object of the battle mode we were playing) was to stay together. Splitting up left more room for dying. By staying together it was more likely you could cover your partner and be more likely to shoot your opponent. Great game, I’m excited for the next one to come out.
