"On Open Wings"

TEASER

INT - TAXI CAB - LATE DAY

TRU stares straight ahead with her lips pursed tightly together. She holds her pose a few seconds, sighing slightly until PAN on LINDSAY who has an equally impassive expression on.

TRU

Linds....

LINDSAY

Just don’t Tru. I’ve got a long flight ahead of me and the last thing I need
is to feel guilt tripped...

TRU

I’m not guilt-tripping you!. I’m apologizing for the shitty vacation you had
to endure. Look Lindsay, I really am sorry and I promise the next time you
visit things will be better…

LINDSAY

The next time I visit? I don’t even know if there will be a next time. Between
you and school work, you and your ex, and Harrison.....This trip has been a
nightmare. I thought if I came here then...

TRU

You really miss him, don’t you?

LINDSAY

Every day..

TRU

(quietly)

I know the feeling.

LINDSAY

Right. Jensen...

TRU

He just left. I mean I knew things were going badly but... he left. Me,
school...maybe even his career…

LINDSAY

At least he didn’t leave you for someone two years younger than you. I was even stupid enough to think that Harrison would be...

TRU

Single?

Lindsay nods her head.

TRU

Avery… she’s a good friend...

LINDSAY

Is that supposed to make me feel good? Especially with those...stupid mind
games he played with me during lunch? There was nothing for me back there,
Randall’s gone... here? Harrison’s gone. What do I have?

TRU

I am so sorry...

LINDSAY

(looking out the window)

Wonderful. We’re here.

INT - AIRPORT/NEAR TERMINAL - LATE DAY

TRU and LINDSAY walk in silence as they near the woman taking up plane tickets at the terminal.

TRU

So.... Maybe next time you’ll stay more than two days.

LINDSAY

Maybe...

HARRISON

(offstage)

Tru, wait up....

PAN as both women look to see HARRISON and AVERY running up.

LINDSAY

What do you want, Harrison?

HARRISON

Oh c’mon...Can’t I see you off? We didn’t get to talk all that much. I wanted
to give my goodbyes...

LINDSAY

Yeah?

HARRISON

Yeah..I missed you...When do you think you’ll be coming back?

AVERY

I thought you were going to say goodbye, not give her an invitation to visit!

LINDSAY

Uh... we were talking.

AVERY

Like you were just talking when you were putting the moves on him...

HARRISON

(sheepishly)

I was just saying goodbye... it’s not like that...

LINDSAY

Like what, Harrison?

AVERY

Yeah, what is it then?

HARRISON looks at the two angry women and merely chuckles nervously in response.

LINDSAY

My flight’s leaving... goodbye Harrison.

LINDSAY turns to TRU briefly and forces a smile. TRU leans forward and hugs LINDSAY, after a moment LINDSAY hugs her back.

LINDSAY

See ya Tru…

TRU

Bye Linds… I know things are gonna work out for you. Trust me.

LINDSAY

Thanks Tru…I gotta go, bye…

LINDSAY looks to AVERY briefly and holds back glaring at her.

LINDSAY

Nice to meet you…

AVERY

Right…

LINDSAY takes hold of her bags and rushes away, taking one last look at each of her friends as she goes.

HARRISON

Ave...

AVERY

Save it. Call a cab for your ride...

With that AVERY turns on her heels and walks off, not looking back once. HARRISON looks back at TRU, looking completely shocked at what has just taken place. TRU merely shakes her head in response.

TRU

Smooth move, Casanova...

INT - AIRPORT - LATE DAY

HARRISON and TRU are standing next to a large window revealing the landing strip.

HARRISON

I just don’t get it. I mean, how did I let things get so wrong?

TRU

You really don’t know?

HARRISON

No....well okay, maybe there might have been some flirting going on, but I was
just trying to cheer Lindsay up.

TRU

Come on Hare, how would you feel if Avery was being all flirty with one of her
exes right in front of you?

HARRISON

I’ve never even met the guy.

TRU

So? Maybe you should think about what it would be like, and then maybe you can
fix things with Avery.

HARRISON

Well, could you talk to Avery for me? Maybe help me patch things up.

TRU

No way Harry, this is something you gotta do for yourself.

HARRISON

Come on Tru, you help people all the time. Just because it’s not a rewind day

doesn’t mean you can’t help people out… especially your bro.

TRU

That’s beside the point...Look... her plane’s taking off....

HARRISON

How much do you think long distance phone bills would be?

TRU rolls her eyes and opens her mouth to speak, but instead of the words she were to utter, a sharp cry escapes her lips instead when the plane LINDSAY was on blows up right in front of them.

END OF TEASER

BLACK OUT.

ACT ONE

INT - AIRPORT - LATE DAY

TRU

Oh God!

TRU screams as she still tries to process what has just happened. She tries to make a run for the terminal but HARRISON grabs her roughly around the middle.

TRU

Let me go....what the hell are you doing?

HARRISON

Tru, calm down...J-just......we’ve gotta...

TRU

Gotta what?

TRU finally pushing him away completely as the plane comes barreling down to the ground and crashes.

TRU

The plane.... Lindsay... oh.... oh God....

HARRISON

Lindsay....

HARRISON tries to make a grab for his sister once more but he suddenly yells and slams his fist against the glass. As his hand hits he begins letting tiny sobs escape his body before he’s leaned against the glass crying. TRU says nothing and begins to ran away. She's almost at the entrance door for the airstrip until a security guard grabs her.

TRU

Let me go!

SECURITY GAURD

Ma’am, you’re not allowed through here.

TRU

My friend was in there! I have to get to her!

SECURITY GAURD

You need to calm down, is what you need to do. They’re already getting the med
staff out there and as soon as we know anything we’ll let...

TRU

I’m a doctor.

SECURITY GAURD

A doctor?

TRU

Yes, a doctor, I work at the city morgue…I could help... y-you need all the
people you can get.

SECURITY GAURD

(waving her in, grabbing his radio)

Expect a twenty something female. Doctor, allowed clearance....

TRU

Thank you.

EXT - LANDING STRIP - LATE DAY

TRU clamors past officers and the medical staff trying to assess the situation. She holds a hand to her mouth when she sees bodies already strewn about. She steps past the bodies until she sees a lone officer, shaking his head.

TRU

What happened?

OFFICER

We don’t know. Are you a doctor? There’s some staff over there....more...bodies. They could use some assistance.

TRU nods and hurries in that direction, instantly finding a group of doctors hunched around various people, checking for any signs of life. She gulps and heads over, stopping in her tracks when she sees the nearest body.

TRU

Oh god...No... oh god no…Please.....

LINDSAY

(turning her head at Tru)

Help me

In an instant, more bodies begin to stir and sit up slightly to face TRU.

BODY 1

Save me....

BODY 2

Please....

BODY 3

I need you...

BODY 4

Help us....

TRU has no time to bask in her shock and confusion before the day rewinds.

END ACT OF ONE

BLACK OUT.

ACT TWO

INT - TRU'S APARTMENT- DAY

TRU bolts upright in bed, a cold sweat glistening on her face.

TRU

Lindsay. Oh my God…

The phone RINGS and TRU is quick to answer it.

TRU

(into phone)

Harry!

HARRISON V.O

You know it’s still a little freaky when you do that. What’s the matter, sis?
You sound like you've just fielded a call from Ghostbusters or something.

TRU

Wrong time to play mind games, Harry. I need your help today.

HARRISON V.O

Yeah well, you don’t usually sound this stressed out when you wanna just go
for coffee. What’s up?

TRU

(into phone)

Something is going to go wrong with Lindsay’s flight out tonight. I’m gonna

need your help to keep that from happening.

HARRISON V.O

But, if it’s one of those days then...

TRU

(into phone)

Meet me at the coffee shop in 30 minutes and I’ll tell you everything.

HARRISON V.O

I’m already on it. See ya in 30.

INT - STANDARD DINER - DAY

HARRISON and TRU are sitting in a booth talking.

TRU

Yesterday I went with Linds to the airport. Suffice to say we didn’t exactly
end things on the right foot, so let’s just say I better make up for it today or else I owe her one hell of a vacation the next time she comes here. Anyway,
then you and Ave came by because you claimed you didn’t get to say goodbye to
her properly and she left to get on her plane. Everything was
fine until...

HARRISON

Until what, Tru?

TRU

We both saw the plane blow up. Right in front of us, Harry! Right in front of
us!

HARRISON

But Lindsay…

TRU

She asked for my help yesterday, thank god…. But so did all of the other
passengers on that plane. And since there’s no way I can be in two places at
once, I need you to help me.

HARRISON

I’ve got your back, sis. Anything you need.

TRU

Good. I’m gonna be meeting Lindsay at the mall later to go shopping like we
planned yesterday after she got in. Lindsay asked to have lunch with you
and my new friend Avery who’ll be at the mall too while we were shopping
so you should be hearing from us in an hour or two. You gotta handle this
one delicately Harry, Lindsay still has feelings for you and I think it’s
one of the reasons she came back. If you’re not careful you could mess
things up with her AND Avery. Watch yourself…

HARRISON

All right, all right, I got it. I’ll try not to screw things up. Besides, I’ve
got you to watch out for me in case I’m about to do anything stupid.

TRU

Right, anyway, I gotta go. I’ll see you in a little while. Oh, and Harry? Go
easy on the flirting today…

INT - RICHARD'S OFFICE - DAY

TRU

Let me guess, she’s doing the heroic thing again today?

JACK

’Fraid so. But I think we’re all in for a lot more than we bargained for.

RICHARD

How so?

JACK

Well, from what I saw it looked like Tru knows the victim personally, I saw
her modeling some clothes for her. Then there was what looked like two
love birds holding hands, I think it was Harrison and Tru’s friend… Avery.
Then I saw what looked like an airport terminal, I think there was
a plane ticket with the flight number 740, the inside of an airplane, a
lot of shaking and then I heard a very loud explosion.(pause) Seems like a
plane went down and Tru’s friend Lindsay was one of the passengers. I
happen to know for a fact that Lindsay’s going back to Europe today.

CARRIE

(stepping in)

Oh, please don’t tell me you’re gonna have all that fun without me.

JACK

Wasn’t planning on it, but if you insist…

RICHARD

Well, Jack, what’s your strategy today?

EXT/INT - AIRPORT - DAY

DAVIS V.O

City Morgue…

TRU

(into phone)

Davis, it’s Tru.

DAVIS V.O

Oh, hi, Tru. Hey, aren’t you with Lindsay today? I thought she was leaving
later tonight.

TRU

(into phone)

Well, let’s just say she won’t be going anywhere near the airport if I have
anything to do with it.

DAVIS V.O

Oh my God, Tru is it…-

TRU

(into phone)

-Yeah, it’s a rewind day. And if I don’t stop Lindsay’s plane from taking off
tonight, the whole plane’s gonna blow up. I already saw it blow up once in
front of me, Davis. I can’t let this happen again.

DAVIS V.O

My God, Tru. I’m so sorry. S-so is there anything I can do to help?

TRU

(into phone)

Not yet, Davis. All I know is that I not only have to save Lindsay, but I have
to save a whole plane full of passengers. They all asked for my help. If I
don’t save them then I… And then with Jack…who knows how he’s gonna try
and get in my way today!

DAVIS V.O

You can do this, Tru. All you have to do is focus. Don’t worry about Jack
right now. Just focus on making sure that plane doesn’t leave.

TRU

Right… thanks, D.

DAVIS V.O

You’re welcome.

TRU

I’ll give you a call if I need anything.

TRU closes her cell and continues wandering around the terminal, finally stopping at the gate. As she makes her way to the gate’s counter, someone hurriedly rushes by her.

MAN

Excuse me, miss. I’m sorry.

TRU dismisses the encounter from her mind as she approaches the gate’s counter.

TRU

Excuse me. What time does this afternoon’s flight to England depart at?

ATTENDANT

It departs at 4:30 p.m.

JACK - O.S

Aww… what’s with the long face, Tru?

WIDE as JACK is seen standing behind TRU.

END OF ACT TWO

BLACK OUT.

ACT THREE

INT - AIRPORT- DAY

TRU

What is it this time, Jack.

JACK

’Aw, c’mon, Tru, is that really a nice way to go about greeting a friend?

TRU

We’re not friends, Jack. You’re a royal pain in my ass that doesn’t seem to
know the meaning of ‘leave me alone’.

JACK

Oh, that’s a little harsh now, don’t you think? Could it be your bad mood is
because your friend Lindsay is going to die today?

TRU

She’s not going to die today, Jack. That was yesterday. At least this time
I’ve got the upper hand. I don’t have to get into her life, I’m already in
it. And just so we’re clear? Stay away from my friends.

JACK

Message received. I just don’t want to see you meddling with Fate, Tru.

TRU

My best friend is in danger. You don’t really expect me to just stand by and
watch, do you?

JACK

Who said I was talking about Lindsay?

TRU

What do you mean?

JACK remains silent.

TRU

Fine, just stay the hell out of my way today Jack.

INT - MORGUE - DAY

CARRIE enters the office while DAVIS is busy at his desk.

CARRIE

Hey there, handsome…

Davis looks up from his computer screen at her.

DAVIS

Uh… hi Carrie…

CARRIE

You’re looking pretty intense there, busy saving the world?

DAVIS

Oh, uh… no, I’m just working on next week’s schedule. I don’t usually do the
saving though.

CARRIE

Of course, Tru’s the one who does the heavy lifting. Is she working today?

DAVIS

No she’s… out, in the field.

CARRIE

Saving someone from a gruesome death no doubt?

DAVIS

Yes, actually, one of her best friends was on a plane yesterday that got blown
up. She’s out trying to keep her from it.

CARRIE

Really, that must be hurting her pretty bad. Can I do anything? Maybe I could
talk to her and make her feel better.

DAVIS

No, she’s handling it all right. Thank you for asking though.

CARRIE

So there’s absolutely nothing I can do?

DAVIS

Not unless you can ground flight 740 somehow.

CARRIE

Well, not really something I’m used to doing, but I can give it some thought.

DAVIS

Thanks…

CARRIE leaves the morgue and takes out her cell phone, opening it and dialing a number.

CARRIE

(into phone)

Homeland Security…Yes, I’d like to file a report. I’m a psychologist and I
have reason to believe one of my patients may attempt to ground a plane.

DISPATCHER

What’s the name?

INT - MALL - DAY

TRU walks up to one of the food court tables where LINDSAY is waiting for her.

TRU

Hey…

LINDSAY

Hey Tru… What’s wrong?

TRU

It’s nothing.

LINDSAY

Okay… well, you wanna sit down or something?

TRU

Sure…

TRU takes a seat at the table.

TRU

So, how are you?

LINDSAY

I’m really not sure how to answer that. I thought I had everything figured
out. In the short time we were married, I was so sure that it would be
forever. And then I caught him with that… tramp. Everything has changed
since then.

TRU

It’ll be okay, Linds. You’ll find a way to get your life back on track and
it’ll be fine.

LINDSAY

I’m just, trying not to think about it right now. It’s one of the reasons I
came back, to see my best friend Tru… and to have a little fun.

TRU

Well, I don’t know how much fun I can be but I’ll definitely give it a shot.

LINDSAY

Okay then, let’s do that shopping thing we came here to do.

TRU

Good plan.

EXT - AVERY'S APARTMENT - DAY

HARRISON is standing outside wating for AVERY when JACK walks up.

JACK

Hey buddy…

HARRISON

You really should stop doing that, Jack. If you sneak up on the wrong person
you might find yourself in front of a moving bus.

JACK

I thought you were the one going around messing with Fate and helping your big
sis save people.

HARRISON

Maybe so, but according to your whacko theory I’m already messing with Fate
just by existing. So what does it really matter whether I help her or not?

JACK

That’s true, but then you really have to ask yourself. Could this really be
your fault?

HARRISON

What are you talking about, Jack?

JACK

Think about it, Harrison, the fact that you’re still around causes so many

ripples in Fate. You touch a lot of lives every day, even if you don’t realize

it, and you and Lindsay touched each other deeply once upon a time. How do you

know that today isn’t your fault?

HARRISON

My fault…?

JACK

Yes, how do you know that Fate isn’t punishing you for being alive? Fate
doesn’t forget things, Harrison. It remembers that you’re supposed to be
dead and you’re not. It can’t just let you get away with that. For all you
know, Fate is taking out the fact that it can’t have you…on Lindsay.

HARRISON

Whatever Jack…

JACK

Hey, I’m just speaking the truth.

HARRISON

Your truth maybe…

JACK

It’s Fate’s truth, Harrison, not mine. It’s why good old Jensen left Tru, and

why you could never make it work with Lindsay. Heck, it’ll probably screw up

your relationship with Avery eventually.

HARRISON

You stay away from my girlfriend.

JACK

Fine, just don’t be surprised if something happens to…

AVERY

(walking up)

Harrison…

HARRISON

Hey baby.

AVERY

Who’s the guy?

HARRISON

He’s…-

JACK

-ack Harper, nice to see you again, I think we met at Tru’s Christmas party a

while back…

AVERY

Avery Bishop. So you’re a friend of Tru’s?

HARRISON

He’s not a friend, Ave. Let’s not waste any time on him.

JACK

It was nice meeting you.

INT - MALL - DAY

TRU and LINDSAY are together in the fitting rooms, changing and trying on clothing items as they talk.

LINDSAY

So, he just left you?

TRU

Yeah, he just up and left. I suppose I’d be okay if it was just me he’d left.
I could deal with seeing him every day as long as it was what he wanted.
But he didn’t just leave me, he left school, he left town, and I have no
idea where he went.

LINDSAY

Well, he’s a dunce for leaving such a hot girl as you. Just be thankful you

didn’t find him screwing his secretary in your own bed.

TRU

I almost wish he had. (pause) I’m sorry, I didn’t mean…

LINDSAY

It’s okay, don’t worry about it. (indicating her pants) What do you think?

TRU

I don’t know, I don’t really like the look of the back pockets.

LINDSAY

Hmm, well I like them. (observing Tru) What?

TRU

Nothing…

LINDSAY

Tru…?

TRU

Hmm…?

LINDSAY

I guess some things never change.

TRU

What do you mean?

LINDSAY

Almost every time we went shopping or having coffee or whatever back before I
moved, you always had your head somewhere else. You never would tell me
why either. You just had to keep it a big secret, from everyone.

TRU

Look, Linds…

AVERY

(walking up)

Tru…?

TRU

Avery… hey… What are you doing here?

AVERY

What does it look like I’m doing? I’m shopping. I guess I don’t have to ask

what you’re doing here.

TRU

Right…Oh, uh, Avery… this is Lindsay, my best friend visiting from England.

Lindsay, this is Avery, she goes to med school with me.

LINDSAY

Hey…

AVERY

Hey there…

TRU

Nice top, you gonna try it on?

AVERY

That’s what I’m doing here. Trying clothes on is kinda the point of being
here, isn’t it? Harrison’s across the hall at the record store that
sells DVDs.

LINDSAY

Harrison’s here? You know Tru, it’s almost lunch time and I’m getting kinda

hungry. Maybe once we’re done here the four of us can grab lunch at the old

diner? I used to love doing that.

TRU

I don’t know, Ave? What do you think?

AVERY

Sure… but first I’m going to try this on.

INT - MORGUE - DAY

CARRIE makes her way into the morgue, heading straight for DAVIS in his office again. She speaks into her cell phone quietly enough so that DAVIS can’t hear before closing the conversation.

CARRIE

Thanks, Jack. (closing phone and to Davis) Hey, how’s it going?

DAVIS

Hey Carrie… did you have any luck?

CARRIE

Actually, I did. I called Homeland Security and told them that a patient of

mine might be thinking about hijacking a plane. They said they’d look into it

and ground the plane if necessary.

DAVIS

Oh… that’s good. I wasn’t really sure I could do it.

CARRIE

I guess it’s a good thing that you have me then, isn’t it?

DAVIS

Y-yes, it-it really is… I’m glad you found a way. I was kinda coming up empty.

CARRIE

Well, now that we’ve got that taken care of, maybe you and I should have

lunch. I hear there’s a great little place down the street. We could get a

booth and talk.

DAVIS

W-well yeah, sure… that sounds like a lot of fun. I’ll just, change my coat

and… and then we can go.

CARRIE

Great…Let’s go.

END OF ACT THREE

BLACK OUT.

ACT FOUR

INT - STANDARD DINER - LATE DAY

TRU, HARRISON, LINDSAY and AVERY are all sitting in a booth at the Standard Diner, a noticeable uncomfortable silence between them.

HARRISON

Well, I never really thought Randall was good enough for you anyway.

LINDSAY

Thanks, Harrison…

AVERY looks at LINDSAY and then takes HARRISON'S hand in hers, indicating to the other female that he is taken. LINDSAY reacts.

TRU

Lindsay, I…

LINDSAY

I, I need to go to the bathroom, I’ll be right back.

JACK

(coming up from O.S)

Tru, well isn’t this just the strangest coincidence? I come in to get some
food, and here you are. I thought I’d sit down and say hello.

TRU

Hello Jack, now get out of my way.

JACK

You know, every time I meet one of you Davies you make some mean remark
towards me. Did I do something wrong?

TRU

That’s putting it mildly, Jack, now get your butt out of the booth so I can
get out.

JACK

Well okay, but I kinda wanted to have an important conversation with you Tru,
especially with that flight leaving later today.

TRU

What are you planning, Jack?

JACK

Nothing, what the heck could I do? You’ve got a plane to stop, all I have to

do is wait for it to take off. The passengers will do the rest for me.

TRU

What do you mean the passengers will do the rest for you?

JACK

Well, let’s just say there are some unsavory folks scheduled to take a flight
out to England at 4:30 this afternoon. People you don’t really want
on the plane if you expect the other passengers to survive. I could
give you their names if you want. They’re all locked up here. (tapping his
head) But hey, maybe you found some other way to keep the plane on the
ground.

WAITRESS O.S

Pick up for Harper?

TRU watches JACK leave and then walks towards the bathroom as she pulls out her phone, talking discretely into it.

TRU

(into phone)

Davis?

DAVIS V.O

Oh uh, yes, Tru…

TRU

Davis, I can’t figure out how I’m gonna get the plane grounded. Jack just
showed up and from what he said I think there might be terrorists on the
plane.

DAVIS V.O

That could be, Tru, but it also could be what Jack wants you to think
. Besides, you don’t have to worry about the plane, I took care of it.

TRU

(into phone)

How did you do that?

DAVIS V.O

Uh… I, I called Homeland Security and told them that I was worried that

someone I knew would be disruptive on the plane. They said they’d ground the

flight until they could check out the passengers.

TRU

(into phone)

Oh, well, that’s good. We should still follow up though. Its 3:45 now, do you
think you could call the airline and confirm that the plane
is grounded?

DAVIS V.O

Sure Tru, no problem. I’ll call them right away.

TRU

(into phone)

Thanks D…

DAVIS V.O

Like I said, I’m here for you. I’ll let you know when I have something.

TRU

(into phone)

Okay, I’ll talk to you soon, Davis.

TRU continues to make her way towards the bathroom when LINDSAY walks out and heads towards the table, grabbing her coat as she does.

LINDSAY

Look, I’m…it was nice seeing you again Harrison and, it was… nice to meet you
Avery but uh, I think I’m just gonna go.

TRU

No, Linds, come on, stay. We can go to the movies or something. Go to a club

maybe?

HARRISON

Yeah, come on. We could have a lot of fun, the four of us.

LINDSAY

No, I, I think I’m just gonna go home. I’m sure there’s a flight back heading
out soon. Good thing I got an open ended ticket, I can leave
whenever I want. I’ll see you guys. Thanks for the vacation, Tru.

TRU

I’m gonna… I’ll be right back.

STEADY as TRU follows LINDSAY outside.

TRU

Linds…Look, I’m sorry about what you saw in there. Harrison and Avery are
together now but that doesn’t mean you should leave the country.

LINDSAY

Why not…? It’s not like I have any reason to stay.

TRU

You do, Lindsay. Come on, you lived most of your life here, there are other

things you could do. Try and get work at some marketing firm. There are things

that you can do. You don’t have to pin everything on what’s happening with

Harrison. Stay, please…

LINDSAY

I can’t, I’m sorry, it’s just not something I’m ready for. I at least have to
go back and settle the divorce with Randall.

TRU

Yeah, but you don’t have to do it right now. Wait a day maybe.

LINDSAY

I can’t.

LINDSAY climbs into a cab and TRU follows in after her. CUT TO: INT OF CAB.

TRU

(to driver)

Can you take the scenic route to the airport please? (to Lindsay) Okay, let’s go.

LINDSAY

What are you doing, Tru?

TRU

Look, I still think you shouldn’t go right away. I mean, you just got here and
all. But if you really want to leave, then I’m not just going to let my
best friend leave without a proper goodbye.

LINDSAY

Fine…

INT - TAXI CAB - LATE DAY

TRU

Lindsay…

LINDSAY

I was so stupid.

TRU

You’re not stupid, Linds.

LINDSAY

I came back thinking that Harrison would just be waiting for me. That I could
come back and just pick up where we left off.

TRU

Maybe you were, but just because Harrison isn’t available does not mean you
don’t have anything worth being here for. Just because Randall cheated
on you doesn’t mean you don’t have something worth finding in England.
Stay here a few more days at least. Even if you do go back to England
tomorrow, the divorce won’t be finalized right away, right?

LINDSAY

No, it won’t.

TRU

So stay here for a few days. You don’t have to leave right now, do you? You
came back to town because you wanted to get away from England and Randall.
Going back isn’t going to do you any good. You’re just going to
be reminded of how alone you are over there. But here you’ve got people
who care about you and want you to be okay. Come on Lindsay, stay. At
least for the full week you were planning on.

LINDSAY

All right, I’ll stay.

TRU

Good, okay… (to driver) Would you mind turning this cab around? We’re going
back to my place instead of the airport.

INT- TRU'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

TRU

NEWSCASTER V.O

afternoon…

TRU all but goes white and tunes out the TV voice over pictures from the crash playing on the screen.
