The Doctor had exited the TARDIS in search of more information. He'd already learnt from one of his future selves that none of the TARDISes worked, but he still needed details. Somehow, some way there had to be a way to reverse this

If the Master counts as one of the Doctor's past and future companions, than the Doctor will be rather happy that he sat down. If not, well tough shit. The Master still sits down next to him.
Without even looking he says, "You're doing it wrong."
"No, I'm not." Not that he looks up. "It's a book. I'm not reading it upside down or backwards. You're just being contrary." He continues reading as if he had never been interrupted.
'Being disproved is no reason not to reconsider it. Sometimes it's only a matter of not having the necessary perspective." He abruptly slams the book shut on the offending finger. "If you can't be helpful, I'd suggest you find someone else to bother."
"Ah, yes, you're being helpful. Which in my experience means that you're trying to annoy me, if not be actively counter productive." He dumped the book back on the pile and selected another one. "I don't have time for this. Go bug someone else."
Without even looking he says, "You're doing it wrong."
