Gurren Lagann
I started watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann two nights ago, since it seemed liked my entire f-list had either watched it or was in the processes of watching it, lol.
It's a pretty awesome series, although the summaries for it don't do it justice. I looked it up a few times now and the summaries make it out to be all about 'digging' and 'drilling', so I would always past. Instead it's a cool mecha show about humans forming a rebellion to fight against the beastmen who are in control of the planet and who kill all humans who wander to the surface from the safety of the underground.
I like Viral. Yeah, don't mind me, I always end up liking crazy, obsessive villains.
Gawh! Kamina! Nooooooooooo!
Can't say I saw that coming.
Actually I should have seen it.
Since Kamina was the one who formed the Gurren/Dai-Gurren Brigade, was the first one to capture a Gunmen, was the one who's name was being spread throughout the lands, was the one who everyone looked up too in their fight, was the one who came up with all their battle plans, was Viral's rival, etc, etc.
Basically he was acting more like the main character than Simon so the only way for Simon to take over the role was to kill him. It reminds me of the old Suikoden I and II games where the leader of the rebellion would get killed an hour into the game so that your 14-year-old main character can take over the role and lead the rebellion to victory.
But that doesn't mean I still can't be unhappy he died.
I so wanted to hate Nia when she showed up since she "replaces Kamina", but she's just too awesome.
