Yesterday, I saw the first installment of Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I live in a big city whose mayor is openly gay. I like to think that it's a sign that times have changed since the 70's. And then I remember that the mayor was a victim of an assassination attempt by a man who "hated politicians, the Socialist Party, and the homosexuals" in 2002.
