Re: Sanji | One Piece | 2/? Personality contd. dandywonderous April 24 2011, 05:29:24 UTC
Sometimes (but very rarely), Sanji comes to accept a person as something close to family, as he has Zeff and the other chefs. Women in this position get treated more or less the same, but they hold more priority over women he does not know, and will be treated with a little more respect in regards to their own abilities. Men in this position usually get treated harsher, but it is a strange, fond sort of harsh. This is because of the way Sanji was raised; taught that real men don’t show each other affection the way you show a woman affection, Sanji subconsciously associates constant fighting and insults as the male equivalent of brotherly or familial love. Of course, this is only in cases where he actually likes the person ( ... )

Sanji | One Piece | 3/? Personality end, computer and History start dandywonderous April 24 2011, 05:31:34 UTC
Most importantly, Sanji is a dreamer. He has been since he was little and first heard the fish tales and legends of All Blue, and still is, even though he has told himself that, logically, of course these things don’t exist. It doesn’t stop him from dreaming that they do, though, and it doesn’t slow him down in his ambitions to be the world’s greatest chef.

COMPUTER APTITUDE: He is an epic fail with technology not related to cooking. Everything he touches breaks. His solution to problems involving computers is to mash every button and see what happens. He has at least figured out how to work his phone properly and can even pull off the occasional video post, but other than that he has no idea what he's doing with them. He's also one of the slowest texters ever.

AU HISTORY: Sanji was born France on March 2nd, 1991. What happened to his parents after that is unknown, but somehow, not long after, he showed up in the French foster care system. He grew up in an orphanage as a mostly normal if sometimes angry or mildly violent child. One ( ... )

Sanji | One Piece | 4/? History contd. dandywonderous April 24 2011, 05:33:13 UTC
When Sanji woke up some time later, he found himself still alive, laying on a rock out at sea. When he sat up and looked around, he discovered, to his horror, the pirate captain sitting next to him. Zeff explained that the rock was completely barren, and the high cliff sides made going down to fish impossible, if one wanted to climb back up again. Luckily, two bags of food had washed ashore: a small one, and a very large one. Zeff told the boy to stay on this side of the rock and watch for ships, ordering that he come to the other side of the rock (where he would sit and watch) only if he saw one, and immediately when he did. With that, he picked up the biggest bag of food, causing Sanji to protest. Zeff rebutted that he had a bigger stomach, and so of course he needed more food. He told Sanji that if he ate normally, the food in the small bag would last him a week, but since he was a chef, he should be able to ration it out for at least twenty days. He pointed out that there was a pool of rainwater that he could drink from so he ( ... )

Sanji | One Piece | 5/? History end, ALSO THIS IS A RESERVE /forgot dandywonderous April 24 2011, 05:36:01 UTC
After both had recovered from their ordeal, Zeff used the bag of treasure to buy a large ship, dubbed The Baratie, and took Sanji up on his offer to help him. The boy became his apprentice, and what a difficult training it was. Zeff taught him not only how to cook (a rigorous process that involved hard shifts and sharp kicks if he did anything wrong) but also how to fight, using the Korean Red Leg style, a very tough and dangerous type of martial arts similar to kick-boxing, and so named because it made not only its enemies bleed, but also its users ( ... )

Sanji | One Piece | 6/? Samples~ dandywonderous April 24 2011, 05:37:13 UTC
SAMPLES
INTRANET/1ST PERSON SAMPLE[The video post that is coming on the network now is a little… interesting. Or, rather, not interesting at all, in that it’s just a black screen, accompanied by some muffled and static-distorted cursing. It takes several minutes for whoever is operating the webcam to figure out how to get the video on, and when he finally does, it is revealed to be one very angry blond chef, who is no doubt only more enraged by the technical differences that are clearly the fault of his computer and not his own incompetency with said machine ( ... )

Revision Request reimsadmin April 25 2011, 22:22:31 UTC
After reading over and discussing your application, we would like a few revisions. They are as follows:

-The AU History has that the character survived for 60 days without food. The human body cannot survive more than two weeks without some form of food. We would like you to revise this part of the history to explain how he managed beyond two weeks without food in order to stay alive. For example, did he catch fish, small wildlife, eat native plants, etc.

Please have your revisions submitted within one week from this notice. Should you have any questions or need clarification, please contact us.

QUESTION! In canon this IS how long he survives with no food (with no explanation given); would it be okay if I just shortened the length of time to two weeks?

To clarify, saying he found something to eat would defeat a lot of the impact of his starvation experience and would change a lot of the things in his personality it instilled, such as his respect for food and his hatred of wasting it, so simply saying he found something to eat wouldn't work. As long as he almost dies from starvation, though, it's okay.

As much as we all love One Piece, it's a lovably ridiculous canon. Let's just reduce to the time to two weeks so he can go through his near starvation experience and still live. We're even willing to let you push that two weeks by a few days.

Yeah, haha, I just wasn't even thinking about it when I wrote it. Totally my bad for forgetting that Sanji is a freak of nature (like most One Piece characters). Can I just say it was 16 days-ish?

This would be the last food he would see for the next sixteen days.

That pretty much fixes it, I think? The first 25 days are fine because he had food.

No need. Just make the necessary change on your master file. We've got record of it here.
