Marisa was momentarily caught by indecision. On one hand, she hadn't seen Aya all summer and talking to her on the phone never did cut it. On the other hand this was Aya running full speed at her with intent to hug. Should she duck into the open room next to her or just take it?
The hacker stepped back once, glanced to the potential escape route, but then stopped. She closed her eyes and braced herself for impact. The things she suffers for her best friend.

"I missed you, babe!"
Reply
"Missed you too, ze. Now let go before I bite you."

She steps back and despite her complaining, is still smiling.
"Did you get my text about Momiji?"

"I'm just... feeling weird. Floe didn't come back this year, got a nasty email from my father this morning because he found out I gave the shrine a huge donation to repair the leak in the company's name... and I'm kinda, um... nervous."
She smiled then. "But I'm really happy for you. The two of you make out yet?"
Reply
"No, Momiji is a real prude but I'll deal with it."

Marisa sighed and shrugged. "You'll eventually wear her down. You're kinda like a force of nature at times, ze. You know, Floe being gone makes me wish I'd given in once. Just once..."
Time to head down the hall to Aya's room as opposed to continuing to talk about all this in the hall.

She threw her arm around Marisa to keep her close, in case she was still worried. An easy move since they were walking down the hall.
"Give in to Floe?"
Reply
"She wanted to... and, when I don't lie to myself, I wanted to, but we were roommates, so I never gave the right signals back."
Reply
Thankfully, that was said behind closed doors.
"I was a little jealous because I would have."

She gave Aya a confused look at that last statement. "And why didn't you? It's not like she was actually dating anyone."
