Unsurprisingly, Remilia had heard the odd commotion in the house but wrote if off as one of her father's friends making a short visit. Once she was sure whoever it was was gone, she took the time to exit her room. Catching her father would be difficult but her curiosity drove her to find out something.

In the dim light of the hallway, she spotted the red haired Meilnig easily.

"What are you doing here?"

She stopped in her tracks and turned to face-- oh, wait, she knows that voice. "Oh, hello! You're the girl from the network the other day. Sakuya's... friend?" No, that didn't seem quite right, and she put a finger to her chin as she processed that again.

"Employer. Sakuya is my butler." That much should have been simply enough to know! Sakuya was the best butler ever.

"I'm just wondering why you're in my mansion right now."

"Oh, that's right." It's been explained to her, but it can still be a little difficult to believe.

Meiling scratches at her cheek. "That's, um... My family sent me here to study and to meet everyone that I might be working alongside in the future." She's surprised then, if Remilia lived here, that no one would have warned her. Then again, kids seem to be only be told what they need to know in times like these.

"Working along side us? What do you mean?"

Rather than wait for the answer, Remilia started walking back down the hall. She obviously expected Meiling to follow her but she was headed to the kitchen so she could get some food made for her.

Whoops! It takes her a second, but she follows after her. "I don't know all the details. All I know is that my family will be contacting yours soon for some kind of... deal? The Dragon Corporation specializes in security and staffing. I'm not sure how much of that is news to you..."

She sure doesn't act like that sort of Hong, now does she?

"Are you going to say that you're about to be hired as a guard?" Whatever could be the reason for that? While on that thought, she stepped into the kitchen and politely asked the cook to make her a snack.

"Would you like anything, Meiling?"

A sheepish laugh. "I don't think I'm cut out for something like that, but maybe someday? I doubt it'll be right after school -- I mean, I haven't had any sort of training." Which, incidentally, she's here for. Surprise?

Perking up a bit, she smiles. Though it's been a while since she's been in a full staff kitchen at someone elses beck-and-call. So many decisions. "Oh! Um. I'll just... have whatever you're having."

"That's a good choice." Remi hopes that Meiling likes a bit of seafood because that's what it is. A small calamari snack, just for a rich girl like Remilia.

Without asking again, she turned towards the dining room and starting walking. "Are you going to be here all summer?"

There are few things that Meiling will not eat, so she just smiles and nods. Again, it takes her a moment to realize where Remilia is going, but she catches up. "Mm! It looks that way. I'm supposed to be getting a package with some study materials, soon."

"I guess we'll have to be friends then." Reasonable enough for Remilia, who went to take a seat at a chair. She had the jerk the chair forward, her legs barely able to touch the ground so she had no leverage.

She smiles, and moves to help with that chair, not that she was asked to. "That sounds like a plan to me!"

Remilia frowns and starts to shoo off Meiling. It's a sore subject, being all short, and she doesn't like having it rubbed in at all. Even if it is out of niceness. "Do not do that. I have no need for your help."

The redhead lets go of the chair and side-steps the table. "A-ah, sorry! I was just trying to--" Help. Right. Something Remilia didn't need. Gotcha...

She takes a seat for herself, then, and taps the table-top with her fingers.

"I appreciate you are willing to do it but when I need something, I'll ask." She said that with a smile, pleased that Meiling understood just a bit.

"What are your plans here this summer?"

"Okay, Remilia." She can do that! Or try to remember, at least.

"Besides studying, I'm not really sure. I guess I'll have to see what happens!"
