I Need Brazil, The Throb The Thrill [Open!]

Jun 06, 2011 13:12

CHARACTERS:  Jennifer Walters and *points*  You!  Yes, you!
LOCATION/SETTING: The library
DATE & TIME: June 06, before dinner
WARNINGS: Kind of scary teacher?
SUMMARY: Encouraged by the encounter with Keats, Jennifer decides it is a good idea to do some of her paper grading in the library, not only to learn more about the place, but to make herself accessable to her students.  Those lucky enough to catch her unaware might see her reading something definitely not part of the school required reading.

The library, nestled within the campus, was not her normal place for grading papers.  But they had to get graded somewhere, and there was something calming about the atmosphere of being surrounded by books.  It was easier to get things done when she was slightly relaxed, despite the pale green blouse and chocolate brown pencil skirt that indicated she was still ready for work.  But her eyes moved down papers that had been downloaded and printed off, making notes so that she could remember them later and type them into the grading system.

The problem with being in the library was that she was surrounded by books.  After her divorce, it was natural that she dive into books, worlds where she was not struggling to be the stiff teacher, that she could drift away on a tide of romance and ridiculous premises that would never happen in the real world.  Unfortunately for the papers she was trying to grade, she had such a novel with her, which was calling to her from her attache case with a siren's song promising adventure and romance.

Pushing a strand of auburn brown hair from her face, Jennifer reached into the bag, pulling out the paperback novel.  There was no harm in trying to get a few pages in.  Unfortunately, before long a few pages turned into a chapter or two as the young teacher sat in a secluded corner of the library, sensible brown pump with it's little bow hanging off her toe scandalously while she immersed herself in the world of fair maidens and strong warriors, unaware of anyone approaching her.

#open, jennifer walters
