Today is Monday. I hate Mondays. All of them. Except the Mondays that are also holidays. Those Mondays are fantastic.
We had $20 sitting around at work (teal deer version is that it was a tip) so I went on a coffee run for all of us at Starbucks. I felt so Seattle walking out of there with three drinks. Keri gets the same thing, so she was like "just tell them it's for Keri," which I didn't do but would have had to if she didn't explain to me what all the abbreviations meant (she wrote it down on a sticky note). She got a... grande skinny cinnamon dolche something with sprinkles. I don't know. Leah got a nice frappicino, and I got an iced caramel mocciato which I think is my dream drink. It's like iced coffee but it's already got all the milk and sugar I want, without having to deal with all the unmelted sugar at the bottom (because Starbucks doesn't have simple syrup, which is lame).
So that was the highlight of my day, because I was sleepy a lot of the morning. So much so that I laid down on the floor and made it a game with the kids so I could catch some shut eye: "Should I take a nap?" "Yeah!" "Okay [close eyes and make fake sleeping noises]." "[child starts poking at me and laughing]" "Hey! You woke me up! I thought you said I could take a nap!" *Repeat until the kid gets bored of the game first.*
Oh, my Zipcard came in the mail, huzzah! I was tempted to give it a whirl before Allie came, but that was back before I actually got the card. Now that she's arriving on Thursday, it doesn't really seem like I can fit it in. Honestly I can, I've got both Tuesday and Wednesday nights after all, but the last thing I need going into this is any kind of pressure on my part. Nor do I need my first driving experience in Seattle to be during rush hours. Oh and of course the Mariners are going to be having games the whole time Monique and Allie are here, so there's always the potential to get stuck in game traffic. Well. That really depends on where I'm going, really.
Anyway, my point is I'VE GOT ACCESS TO A CAR, NOW I HAVE TO TALK MYSELF INTO USING IT. I guess I will wait till my buddies are around. Besides, me and Allie don't really have anything planned for the VAST bulk of her week here, so scooting around to various destinations is certainly an option.
Monique, look at this thing:
http://i.imgur.com/YOiN5.jpg So I've managed once again to be the most boring person on the planet. It is so sad right now. I basically just wasted my weekend on nothing at all noteworthy, outside of watching some movies. I've even dove a little back into Farmville because what else do I have to do?.
Really one of the things that has popped back into my head is that I should be drawing, because I want to bone up for my new, personal, ultimate goal in life, which is making a comic for The Neverending Story. I wanna make comics so bad, and yet, I have such a hard time being intentionally funny. Also I can't manage to do anything consistently that isn't a biological urge.
I guess the only thing I'm good at doing regularly is knitting, because it keeps my hands so busy, and then I can just watch a movie or whatever. Seriously I need to learn to make my own patterns, because what if this is my calling or some shit and I don't know it yet? Anyway, I'm on Ravelry now, so another step in Becoming the Quintessential Cat Lady is complete.
I think I'm going to go watch the original Planet of the Apes now. And draw, dammit!
