going out at night,I look up at the stars floating in the void that surrounds us all and then the thought occurs to me.
the light I'm seeing was shed by those stars thousands and in some cases millions of years ago and traveled the void to reach
our eyes. It's old light for all we know beyond it's veil for all we know there be nothing beyond it. for all we know the universe may be nothing beyond that ancient remnant light.
Poets have given many properties to them, their various students have used them for navigation, predicting the future, and attempting to figure out what the universe is made up of, it is after all an ancient thing,a source of wonder, of joy,of fear.
the stars are but blemishes upon the vast and implacable face of God.
