On Saturday, as said earlier, Chris led me, Miles, and the
Intern on a hike. It was a long
hike, and we took some pictures. I
didn't take pictures of Kaosh, a tuber that is the staple of the local Native
American population, or the little onion that we had. I also didn't take a picture of the coyote or deer shit,
although they would have been interesting to see.
We went up Nine Mile Ridge in the Blue Mountains in the
Umatilla National Forest. The view
from the top was wonderful, especially since the weather was so good.
Imagine going straight up this grassy ridge. Yeah, kind of like that.
Chris and the Intern, Nicole, are in much better shape than
I or Miles.
At the summit, we had time for lunch and a quick lie in the
shade.
Miles was a great dog.
He was always second in line, and whenever he run oft, he stayed on the
trail and went backwards and came running when called. He's starting to look (and act) more
and more like a purebred dog.
(It's about time.)
