Whoever Wins, I'm a Loser
On the last day left to register for the Funniest Person in Austin contest, Nick told me he might be headed over to the club to register his self and said he would register me too if he did. I was kind of hoping he wouldn't make it at the time just because I didn't want to deal with the stress.
I found out that he did register me by way of an email from the club saying that my slot would be the first week.
Yuck, gives me little to no time to prepare AND I really wanted to go see Wrath of Khan at the Drafthouse that night.
Then I got sick Sunday and even more sick yesterday (my date for FPIA).
I managed to summon enough energy to pull through with a decent, well-received set and in what must have seemed like a ridiculous upset to a few comics who had better sets, I advanced into the semi-finals (find me for a free pass sometime after next week). Hooray!
Then I found out that the Wrath of Khan screening was (as I had kind of suspected) really a screening of the new Star Trek movie. Boo!
Also, if by some miracle I were to make it to the finals of FPIA, I wouldn't be able to perform because that's the week we're in Europe. Hooray!
