My sister made it out of New Orleans!!!
She drove 12 hours in hellish traffic with her four dogs to Austin and got in late last night.
She may very well lose her house, but she's out of there. I hope she took her computer with her. She's a writer.

My thought and prayers with all of those who can't get out. I hope the Superdome holds well. Such a tragedy.
Did you know that if the water level reaches into the first set of electrical outlets the house is basically shot. Also flood waters leave terrible mud and decaying slime on floors and furniture. They are destroyed, too. I worked with the Red Cross in California when major flooding hit Sacramento two years in a row and learned a lot.
