So I only just saw this now but hey, you have all my support and I'm sorry you have to deal with this shit! I'm glad we kept the ban in place at iitask, it was definitely the right call. Seriously, it's terribly unfair that this should happen to you of all people. (And to Rebeca and others who had their icons ripped-off; it seems to happen to the nicest people, why? :/) Plus you were extremely polite and even supportive, linking them to tutorials, so huge kudos to you.

(For the record: using "I speak English as a second language" (spoiler alert: most of us do and we still understand basic rules), or "I didn't know it was wrong" as an excuse is not acceptable. Not being a native speaker is not a Get Out of Jail Free card. Almost every maker has a "my icons are not bases" line in a post somewhere. I knew how to credit and that reproducing people's work was wrong before I even started making icons. Just look around and when in doubt, ask what the rules are. You can go anon and no-one will know it was you.
No-one likes having stuff stolen from them. No-one. Especially stuff that they created. It's extremely hurtful. So just stop, people.)

Tbh, it makes me a little angry that they tried to use that as an excuse because I know so many of our LJ icon makers only speak English as a second language. So many talented, kind, lovely people who don't deserve having something they've dealt with so admirably used by some shithead trying to weasel out of being called out on their crap. :-/
