Very nice. I think they go well together, don't you? :-)

The two obsessive, well-intentioned, stubborn idiots? It's something in common, I suppose....

Thanks! Hey, I did it by not even trying it! I considered trying to discuss both Vash's alongside one another, but it just Wasn't Going To Happen....

Oh, very good! Even though I don't know the character, I loved this essay.

Oh, thanks! It's so hard trying to get the balance right - not boring the people who already know it all but explaining enough for the people who don't and not spoiling too much all at the same time. I'm so glad it worked for you, because I didn't just want to preach to the converted.

Poor Vash. He tries so hard.

Tiggy, this was marvelous! Concise yet still thorough and full of passion. Dude, the love... the love! *g* Thank you so much for putting this together. I need to pick up the manga now. *shakes fist at you*

Oh, good! Everybody needs to read the manga! *grin* I just can't talk about Vash without oozing love everywhere. It's not possible!

Oh wow, I'm beat. . . millyfan October 23 2004, 22:50:46 UTC
My Legato essay will be mostly animeverse since 1: I haven't been able to but the manga yet, 2: Legato is still a VERY developing story in the untranslated Japanese mangaverse (there, he's back on his feet somehow, among other things) and 3:

^sigh^ I'm sorry, but what I'm turning in won't be half as good as this.

Duh, I forgot my third reason. It's that Legato doesn't get as much screen time in either anime or manga, and there's so much that's unknown in canon. Is it all right to mention commonly accepted fanon in an essay?

This is absolutely great. millyfan October 23 2004, 22:53:47 UTC
Tiggymalvern. . . I love your writing and your characterization. I've read all of your WxV fics, this essay, and I love it all.

I'm sorry about whatever made you dislike me as a person. . . is there any way I could make it up to you? Because I really want to be your friend. ^_^

Jesus, could you show just a *little* dignity and self-respect for a change? 'Be my friend, I'm pathetic' doesn't work on anyone over the age of five, and is just plain insulting to anyone else.

If you really love Tiggy's essay so much, then why don't you actually comment on that, instead of passing comment on her alleged like or dislike of you? That might be something that a person could actually respect you for.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad the essay seems to be working for fans and non-fans alike - it drove me up the wall!
