Hope you are all having a good 4th of July weekend. I'm just relaxing this afternoon before I go bar hopping later tonight. I thought I would write a blog while watching Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone on ABC Family....
Last weekend was the pro wrestling hall of fame weekend here in Waterloo. I went to the WLW show at Young Arena in Waterloo. I watched the show with some local wrestlers/announcer/bookers from Impact Pro Wrestling and 3XWrestling. Bret "The Hitman" Hart, Rowdy Roddy Piper and several other legend wrestlers were there at the show. The show was alright. A couple of our wrestlers from Impact Pro Wrestling were on the show as well as Tyler Cook who has wrestled for 3XWrestling. The crowd was less than last year's show.
I didn't attend any other activities during the weekend. On Sunday, I was asked to referee a show at the First Celebration of God Church in Waterloo. Some of our Impact Pro Wrestling wrestlers and wrestlers from the East coast wrestled on the show. I reffed a match between A.J. Smooth and Montoya X and I reffed the main event which featured George South. Nikita Koloff was at ringside. After the match ended, I found myself in the squared circle with Nikita Koloff and George South. Koloff sent out the message about God. Several show-goers pledged themselves to God. It was definitely a unique experience but I'm glad I was asked to referee in my hometown. A few of my co-workers were at the show and said I did a good job and were surprised to see me referee in their church.
Now, I've refereed 55 matches in 12 shows in 2008.
Not much else going on. Probably go watch the fireworks later tonight in Waterloo and then go bar-hopping.
I'll be refereeing next weekend for Impact Pro Wrestling at the IPW Vault in Algona, Iowa. Should be a great time as always.
That's all for now!
