house hunting
so my best friend is buying a house... im really happy for her but at the same time, completely jealous.
i recently have been watching a lot of house renovation/hunting shows and it got me thinking about what i would want in a house (though my mother says "wanting" is very different than "needing" and i should be thinking about what i need).
So this is what i would want right now:
+ washer and dryer hook up on the main floor rather than the basement
+ large bedroom with lots of closet space (preferably in an attic or top floor)
+ decent size bathroom with a large shower (that can fit 2 people comfortably) and a separate deep soaking tub
+ kitchen with decent counter top space and low shelves; gas stove top with grill/fry top
+ wrap around as well as partially enclosed porch
+ finished basement with bar and bathroom
+ office space
+ space for scrapbooking, painting and creativity
+ extra bedroom for guests/children
+ extra bathroom for guests/children
+ decent living room
+ decent dining room
+ open floor plan
+ 2 car garage/barn with work space for daniel (the garage could be 2 stories and that could be where the guest room is)
+ nice size yard for planting a garden (perhaps veggies), hanging a hammock, a bonfire area and having a place for a dog to run around in; fenced in is fine
+ not close to neighbors (think atleast 1 acre of land)
+ very simple and easy to maintain
+ central a/c and heat with programmable temperature control
so thats my thoughts... im not sure how much that would cost and i have no idea where i want to live for a long time. its hard to imagine ever buying a house because i have a hard time staying still most of the time. but maybe someday when i do buy a house, i can look back on this and think "wow ive changed" or "wow i havent changed one bit". we shall see...
