So, this past weekend was a lot of fun for sure. Friday, we got out of work a little early so we could drive down to Lemont to go see Jon's brother
Scott's band, Entropy, play at Stage 83. It was kind of fun, we hadn't been to a metal show in awhile... so that was cool. We were definately the "old" people in the bunch. There were a plethora of underage goths with painted faces wearing their glasses and lots of black leather & chains. It was pretty entertaining. Jon and I got to talk a bit to Scott's friends and then Elyse's sister, Cori, showed up, so I had someone to talk to for awhile. I also ran into Dave Gavin as well since his band was playing that night too. We stuck around until around 9:30ish and then we decided to go to downtown downers grove for a drink. We stopped off at Taco Bell first to appease our growling stomachs and then we went to Bally Doyle for a drink. There were spotlights in the sky, and we found where they were coming from, that's right, Bally Doyle! They were having a customer appreciation night where you got in with no cover and they were having an 80's theme party. So, a ton of people were dressed up from the 80's and they had an 80's cover band playing... not too shabby. We didn't stay too long though, because we were tired still had an hour drive ahead of us.
Saturday we took our time waking up and lounged around the house for awhile. I got a wake up call at 11 from Liz inviting us to go to
their condo for a BBQ that night, so we accepted. I made a trip to my favorite grocery store, Woodman's, and then we headed out to Steve & Liz's place to go socialize. They had made some homemade Mojitos and had plenty of food, that's for sure! We played drinking games (which pretty much did me in) and then we used their Comcast Karaoke to karaoke all night long. It was a lot of fun for sure.
Sunday I spent the day investing myself in my Six Feet Under series. (I just finished season 4 last night, only 1 more season to go!). Jon and I went out driving to get a car wash and some lunch. I love lazy Sundays that you can just sit on the couch and chill out. Around 7ish we decided to go see the new Batman Movie, The Dark Knight, at the theaters. It was a fantastic movie!!! I would definately recommend to go see it if you're at all interested.
Monday I had the day off because of our summer hours... did I mention I love this job? So, I went out shopping for awhile, got some way good deals at New York & Co. and then got some exercise clothes from Walmart. Then, I watched Six feet under :)
Aside from that... not too much going on, Jon and I are excited to have a weekend where it is "just us". We have some cool plans to go get sushi, see some cool festivals and even drive up to the Indiana Dunes on Monday and visit a winery. I'm really really looking forward to it, we could really use some time to do fun stuff together where it's just us.
