sometimes I forget I even have this lj

So what have I been up to in the last 4-5 weeks? Mostly boring day-to-day life, but there are a few things:

*I ended up not getting a snow day when we had that nasty storm, but had to use a vacation day because after 15 min of scraping and 20 min of Ryan trying to get my car out of our unplowed lot, we get super stuck and I was so frustrated there was no way I was going to work.

*We took a mini-getaway to a cabin in the Hocking Hills to celebrate our three-year anniversary. It was pretty and wintery and our cabin was super cozy.

*But I then proceeded to pretty much have a nervous breakdown later in the week that led to Ryan thinking maybe I should move back to Chicago and we should take a break. Luckily, most of the things I was really frustrated/freaking out about have since been resolved or at least gotten much better (including things between us).

*I finally got my big promotion!!!! Which comes with a really decent raise.

*Also, I was nominated and interviewed for a position on our rec board at work, which is basically like grown-up student government (plans all our charity fundraisers, social events, etc.). I find out this week if I made it. I am going crazy for something that uses some of my more-fun skills than just sitting in front of a computer 8 hrs a day.

*Two weekends ago, I met my mom and sister in Cincy to celebrate my sister's birthday. We did this make your own signature scent thing, which turned out to be much more fun that that sounds. And then went out to eat and shopped the rest of the day away.

*As far as school next year, I got an email last week saying they still aren't sure if the re-structured version of the program I applied for will be up and running for the fall, so to not plan on that as an option (I found out a month or so ago that they were making progress on the approvals and details but weren't sure when it'd be finalized). They said they may have it ready for a "trial run", but unless they want to give me a big cut on tuition, I don't want to pay them $10-11K to be their guinea pig. Boo! But at least I will be saving many thousands of dollars, so maybe I can do something else fun. Like go visit Mills in San Francisco and several IMSA kids in NYC? We shall have to see.

*Things to look forward to: Liz and Bethany coming to visit THIS WEEKEND!!! and then a road trip to Nashville with my sister the next weekend and a trip to Iowa to see my extended family for Easter the next. Yay! I am SO FRICKING GLAD it is almost Spring - part of my problem last month was the non-stop dark, dreary cold and nothing going on and I end up all depressed.
