( world read aloud day )

Superquick, since I only have 12 minutes until today is over (unless I want to lie and back-date it): Today was World Read Aloud Day. Obviously, this is a Day that is relevant to my interests. However, I didn't want to post any podfic (because I want ALL THE POINTS)...so instead, you can hear me read you selections from my favorite of Shel Silverstein's books, Falling Up. It's about half an hour of me reading poems and turning pages - which was WEIRD, because I'm so used to reading form a computer screen, and remembering to lift my head back up to the microphone instead of reading to the page below me was HARD. But, I had fun, and I think you'll enjoy hearing some of my favorites (though, they're not quite the same without seeing the pictures, too)... so, here we go!

You can find the mp3 over here (thanks, paraka, for hosting me!). I feel I should note, I do not own the rights to any of these works - all the poems belong to Shel Silverstein's estate, and I'm merely sharing my joy at his words (I also feel like there should be a bibliography in this entry, but I don't actually remember what page numbers all the poems came from - I was pretty much just leafing through the book, picking out what I loved the most). So, um, yeah - happy last five minutes of World Read Aloud Day!

not a podfic but worth a listen anyway, outside source of awesome, no more megaupload
