Okay, so I'm really behind in a lot of places - I haven't updated my AO3 account in months (new links OR new podfics), I owe some people the correct download links for past podfics (sorry! I still haven't put everything up at mediafire (because I am lazy and full of procrastination)), I have AT LEAST 18 hours yet to be recorded for my PBB, and I have less than a month to finish filling my
au_bingo card. Also there's this school thing, where I'm expected to write research papers and read books and stuff...
But, well, I made (what I consider to be) really hilarious coverart for one of my
au_bingo podfics earlier today (Mom was refinishing the floors, and I couldn't leave the basement without ruining them, so obviously podfic coverart was an efficient use of my time, right? Who needs things like their textbooks, sitting upstairs on the kitchen counter, huh?), so screw all the things I should be doing and let's enjoy some podfic instead!
Caged, written by
turps33, starts off with the boys of My Chemical Romance in a situation of grave peril. Bob says it best: "We've been captured, shackled, shoved in a cage and left to die because you punched an uber villain who's also a Britney Spears fan?" Of course, Caged also contains the obligatory snark, the never-gets-old jokes about Pete Wentz's sex life, and some insightful commentary on Mikeyway's ability to pick up superhero phone numbers.... And then everyone gets rescued by Spider-Man!
Intro/Outro music for this podfic is the
Spider-Man theme song, from the original 1967 cartoon. (It's awesome, and you KNOW you want to go watch the reruns....) You can find this podfic as an mp3
over here (thanks,
paraka, for hosting me!), or click below to stream the story:
***I'm using this podfic as a fill for the "Alternate Fandom: Western Cartoon" square on my
au_bingo card, because even though Spider-Man is also a movie and a comic, my first exposure to Peter Parker was via reruns of the 1960s cartoons and that's pretty much the first thing I think of whenever people mention him. So even though it's not specified whether this is the live-action or the animated version of the Webbed Wonder, my interpretation was, "Cartoons! Yay!"***
