AMAZING THINGS HAPPEN, THAT'S WHAT.
For instance, there was this challenge I participated in last month, called amplificathon? You might have heard me mention it a time or two... Anyway, I WON! I WON! I WON I WON IWONIWONIWON! Neener-neener-neener...I get priiiiiiizes.... I am the awesomest of awesomepants.
Not to brag or anything.
And, everyone else who participated in 2011's amplificathon was (were? was? I can never remember...) excellent, too. Seriously - I have over five days (more than 100 HOURS) of unlistened-to podfic, hoarded on my iPod right now, thanks to the supremely amazing people who contributed to this excellent podficcing fest. I am so excited to start finally listening to all the really brilliant performances people have put together - and, even a few new fandoms, too. Seriously - I blame eosrose and her podfic of Wolf & Fox for my new collection of Kradam podfics (how was I supposed to resist the werewolf!fic, huh?)...thoughtfully provided in large part by diane_mckay (she took second place (wheeeee - hooray for you, ma'am! You are pretty much kickass), and for the last few days of amplificathon we were neck and neck in competition for the top spot (she is fierce competition, and incredibly prolific)), who is, like, the Kradam Queen.
Friends and fans, please take note: now that amplificathon is over, and the mad rush to RECORD ALL THE THINGS has passed, I am feeling a bit worn-out. You see this baby? This baby is me on the podficcing front:
As such, I do not think that I will be quite so speedy with the podfics these upcoming months. Between moving and the subsequent remodeling of all the rooms, the lazy days of summer, the fact that far more people will be home (and thus, less quiet nobody's-in-the-house-for-me-to-read-porn time), and the fact that I'll be taking a few online summer courses....well, my days are gonna be packed. Sorry folks - I am pretty sure that we're gonna be cutting back to a maximum of one podfic a week for now. They'll be great recordings of wonderful stories, just....well, I'm taking a bitty breather for now.
In addition: Houston, we have a moving day! Thanks to everyone involved in this whole house-sale-moving-day-change-of-residence fiasco, I will be spending my Fourth of July holiday weekend stripping carpet, scrubbing walls, painting ceilings, carrying furniture, and unpacking boxes. At least, at the end of the night, I'll get to light shit on fire....
And, one last thing before I hit the sack: Any Measure Of Peace, by manic_intent. X-Men First Class, Charles/Erik, no beach divorce, and a reunion between comic'verse and movie'verse canon? With extra added explosions and intrigue? YES.
