AMP 2011: Day 57
Once upon a time, long before our Podfic Big Bang adventures, I asked
bessyboo to beta-listen to a podfic for me. I was kinda unsure about this podfic, because while I was familiar with canon.... and I thought the fic was adorable.... I wasn't sure if I could capture the essence of those characters. But
bessyboo was incredibly supportive of my neurosis, and even made coverart!
Here, take a look!
Yes, that's right - you did recognize those faces. They're the faces of Ryan Evans and Chad Danforth, of High School Musical fame. Their story, the one I recorded and
bessyboo beta-listened to (thank you times seven,
bessyboo!), is
Waltz. A story running parallel to HSM 3, written by
rageprufrock, this fic is adorable. It's got puppy love, and dance lessons, and sweaty man-hands, and Sharpay being herself. (Sharpay will choke a bitch.) Chad is the adorkably oblivious "ball jock", and Ryan is just fantastic the entire time as he works toward "his future as a fabulous Broadway dancer". He's a character that I didn't really pay much mind to, while watching the movies (I admit it - I watched all three of them. And, the sing-a-long versions, that they show on the Disney Channel, sometimes....), but in this fic? He's my new favorite ever. Ryan's snarky, and stylish, and a snappy dresser, and snazzy, and I'm running out of s-words to describe how much I want to coo over Ryan by the end of this.
See for yourself -
download the mp3 here, and experience the cute. You don't even have to admit that you've seen the movies! Trust me, I've already made Barbie podfic (with insinuated Barbiedoll sexytiems, even!) - if you can handle that, you are more than capable of enjoying this one, too. Oh, and the Intro/Outro music is "I Don't Dance", from the HSM 2 soundtrack.
So, Memorial Day. It was today. Littlest Sis marched in the parade down Main Street with the rest of her Girl Scout troop (all the little Brownies, in their cute little vests and inability to march in straight lines...awwww). I got more tan lines. Lovely. Seriously - if it wasn't a bit too skeevy, I'd take a picture of the tan line. But, as it's most visible across my boobage, I'm not really sending pictures like that out into the wild and wooly internets. V and Littlest Sis ran through the sprinklers for a while, and we had a Family Picnic on the beach (okay, it was pizza, but we sat near sand - it totally counts as a picnic!). There was minimal infighting, and the day ended on a fairly positive note.
Currently I'm watching tv with E, switching back and forth between The Real Housewives Of New Jersey, and Bring It On.... yes, classy programing, the both of them ^____^
