Why I Love It: I'm such a sucker for found family stories of all kinds (this should not come as a surprise by this point in my podficcing career; I blame an early exposure of SGA fics), and this story in particular is full of everything that's good for me. The Stilinski Family pack, taking in actual wolf Derek Hale! And angstmuffins! feeeeelings! snuggles! An unreliable narrator who has a hard time interpreting emotional situations with correct context! cuddling! Let me repeat: ACTUAL WOLF DEREK HALE \o/
Today of all days felt like an optimal time to post this podfic, being as it's American Thanksgiving. I've posted an Avengers podfic on Thanksgiving the last few years (those guys are so good for Found Family and Holiday In The City storylines), but the extraordinarily prevalent found family feels of this story made me think Thanksgiving. It's just... the Stilinskis ADOPT Derek, in all his snuggly, wolfy glory. Derek's got his issues - he bites his paws bloody, in an effort to exert control over the situation - but Stiles and the Sheriff do their best to help and make their new family work.
Right now, all my sisters are home; E is cooking, V and Middlest Sis are backseat-cooking, and Littlest Sis is having too much fun with the paper shredder. (I'm campaigning for an early start on the mozzarella sticks, but no-one's listening to me.) And even though we started the morning off with a screaming bout and some stomping feet, today is still all about the bonds of family - just like Wolf in the House. Happy listening!
