Why I Love It: It's not really a coffeeshop AU....but this fic does take place in a coffeeshop! Which is why Bucky's looking so unimpresed, over his cup of espresso, in the coverart. (Also because I didn't think a straight-up bottle of Mrs. Butterworth's as the cover would be apropriate to the tone of the fic.) Anyway - Bucky's tone in this story was delightful to play around with, and I had such a great time with his sarcastic disbelief. Bucky Barnes Does Not Have Time For Your Maple-Flavored Shenanigans...okay? In conclusion, I did not even attempt to immitate a Canadian accent, for fear of death by the hands of many a Canuck podficcer (instead, everyone sounds like they're from Long Island, and we're all better off that way). Bucky just wants to enjoy his coffee and his murder mystery in peace, without job offers or international espionage interrupting.
