Thanks to the instigation of super_tricie341 - who, seriously, SO BEST - I got to participate in a Party Favor for pod_together this year. circ_bamboo wrote the text, and voiced Maria Hill in the podfic; super_tricie341 did all the coding and podfic editing and sound effects and wrangling, and voiced Pepper Potts; I did the art, drank the coffee (yes, that is a real Heartbreaker blend macchiato from a real Cafe Grumpy's location near my office; no, that is not a real Kee's receipt; yes, those are real Kee's prices), and voiced Natasha Romanov. Together, we fight crime made a SERIOUSLY kickawesome project that tells a story of accidental dating through text messages, emails, and embeded multimedia clips. There's even a fanmix! Last time I had a post about collaborative podfics, I mentioned that time jelazakazone came to visit. One of the days she was here, jelazakazone and I found ourself on klb's couch, recording Wicked podfic. Because, obviously. Bridges you didn't know you crossed, written by raspberryhunter, takes place post-musical - it's a futurefic, long after Glinda has risen to power and Elphaba run from Oz, where their friendship is stronger than time...or space....or even the laws of physics. Magic's funny like that.
klb picked this story out specifically for jelazakazone to voice Glinda (even though it meant klb had to sing in the podfic), and I had a wonderful time narrating in between. The fact that raspberryhunter has blanket permission to podfic SHOULD have meant that this podfic got posted a lot earlier in the summer, but..... well, it's up now, right? This story is so bright, and joyous, and delightful, and FUNNY - Glinda's attempts to keep Elphie's secret while simultaneously proclaiming Elphie's innocence are just the best thing ever, and Elphaba's justification of their reunion is so smug and sweet at the same time. It's a story I wouldn't have read on my own, but that's the best part of having podfic friends - they shove stuff at you, and you find yourself watching clips on youtube, slowly falling under the sway of new fandoms.

I used the song Thank Goodness, as performed by Kristen Chenoweth (from the original Wicked Broadway album) for the Intro music, and an instrumental version of Thank Goodness (probably from someone's karaoke player) for the Outro music.
