poor caldwell. someone had to be the bad guy. at least he's not cheating on a wife as well. though i did realize last night that his dalliance with doctor lindsay almost certainly includes the time he was goa'uld. and that's pretty creepy.

And it might be a good reasoning that she tried to kill herself. There is no telling how deviously cruel a Goa'uld Caldwell could have been. Plus any fic that uses the Surly Pectoral God as anything other than window dressing is good in my book.

ooh, i like that, it makes sense. a hidden relationship is prone to power issues and inequality in the first place. i figured i didn't have to figure out what they were fighting about (other than the obvious bit about secrecy), because chuck is never ever going to ask. he honestly doesn't think it's his business and doesn't want to know.
in his place, i would totally ask.
thank you for reading!

i was worried about the potential dr lindsay/lindsey novak confusion - i don't think it would have been a problem at all if i hadn't listed the pairing in the header, but not listing the pairing seemed like poor etiquette. though i left out the lindsay/caldwell purposefully, mostly because there's just no way in hell i would read something labelled that way. i didn't manage to watch the sg1 episode that she was in, but the transcript made her seem a lot less flaky than she is in coup, so i sort of ran with that ( ... )

I love Chuck being so fleshed out and normal, and the magic bit, and how McKay is so the crappy jumper pilot Cadman knows. Isn't he?
I've never seen The Apartment but the story really works. Thank you!

McKay is very much the jumper pilot. and she really wants to make him try to do a balcony-to-balcony thing just to torment him. and so she can make busdriver jokes at his expense.
i'm so glad it works!
