a day in the life: gale howard
Because the only thing better than Gale Earp on Deadwood is behind-the-scenes!Gale Earp on Deadwood, amen.
8AM: Gale Howard is brought to the set and realizes just how big of a stah he is when he gets his v. own plastic chair in the shade.
9AM: Before shooting starts, Howard and Nichols are pointed into the direction of the Pretty Parade 2006 being conducted in their honor down the main (and only) street in the town.
10AM: Howard squints in the direction of his off-camera boyfriend while the runner-up is given his medal and cameras prepare to finally roll.
11AM: Howard doesn't need no stinkin' gun instruction. He's had learning!
12PM: Howard mounts up. Another thing he needs no instruction for, kthx.
2PM: Milch, who has been working in the writers' trailer, corners Howard to ask him how he felt when Justin was bashed right before his hazel orbs.
4PM: Finally, Howard retreats to his trailer for a toke and stroke to change for the day while a crewmember checks out his fine ass.

Does HBO put these behind-the-scenes things on the DVD sets? This would be most a awesome thing to see where, y'know, Gale moves and talks and stuff! /greedy whore
Especially this part: Milch, who has been working in the writers' trailer, arrives to rehearse the scene, as he does every scene on the show. Working with each actor, he discusses the characters' internal motivations, elaborating on details not found in the scripts. I'd love to hear what off-script insight Gale got for Wyatt beyond "ooze dangerous sexuality and intelligence kthx".
