I know I spend a lot of time, here and elsewhere, bitching about where I live. (Central New Jersey, for those just joining us) There's much to hate about it and I hope to live somewhere else sooner rather than later.
BUT, every year I feel as if I ought to pay homage to the one thing New Jersey (along with all of the other mid-Atlantic states) does very well: Springtime.
It really is a beautiful season here. The daffodils are blooming and most of the trees are budding. April is almost always warm enough (for me) to drive with the windows down.
Unlike other places I've lived, the transition from winter to summer is slow here. We get a whole two months in which we usually need neither heat nor AC.
So meh to NJ....the traffic, the taxes, the rudeness, the office and industrial 'parks' and the accents that sound like ducks being stepped on... But hooray for Springtime; the one thing it does exceptionally well.
