(Copy & pasted from celtx)
ACT I Scene 1
At Rise: The scene is a high school class room. There are a few desks set DSC, and a bookshelf UPS. Set on the bookshelf are a few old, worn texts and novels as well as a large dictionary or two. CELINE enters, followed by JENNA.
CELINE
Ohmigod Jenna! Enough! I know you have a "thing" for Josh, but this is getting ridiculous! Can we please *please* discuss something else!
JENNA
Discuss *what* else? It's not like *you* have a guy!
CELINE throws her a withering look.
CELINE
So what? I don't have "a guy?" So I can't have an opinion? Or ask you to *please* for the love of the Goddess, pick another topic?
JENNA
Wow. Touchy..okay.
zips lips.
The two girls are saved by the bell. And another shuffling of students files in loudly, followed by MR DOWNER a harried-looking instructor.
MR. DOWNER
All right class, all right! Attention please! Can we get down to buisness! Thank-you! Please pull out your Shakespeare, we are going to delve into Romeo and Juliet!
There is scuffling snd chair scraping as the children grab various book bags and pull books out of them.
MR. DOWNER
All right! Good! Now, I'd thought we'd start with a reading to help us get intothe spirit of this story-
MR DOWNER is cut off by VICTOR who walks in and stands patiently waitng to be aknowledged.
victor
Hello, Sir. I did not mean to interrupt. I'm new and just now had to get my schedule sorted and had trouble locating the classroom.
MR DOWNER looks slightly put-off for a momnent, then shakes his head, and reaches out for the time-table VICTOR id carrying.
VICTOR hands it to him.
MR. DOWNER
Yes, well, this seems to be in order. Err- VICTOR. Please, hsve a seat.
VICTOR bows slightly and makes his way to the back of the room to sit. There are a few snickers and glances in his direction, but he doesn't seem to notice. CELINE looks awestruck.
MR. DOWNER/
All right, as I was saying, shall we begin a reading?
He stops, remembering VICTOR is new and may not have the required material with him.
MR. DOWNER
Ah! Victor, Do you need a book?
VICTOR
No, Sir. I'm quite familiar with the text. I could, however, recite a few lines, if you would like?
MR DOWNER is once again caught off guard. Finally, though, he nods his head and gestures for VICTOR to proceed.
VICTOR begins to recite lines from Act I Scene ii of R&J, as the lights fade and CELINE risks another look in his direction. She then turns to face forward again, looking flushed and giddy.
Black out.
