ADCH Beam (and other dog awesomeness)

Oct 07, 2015 21:54

Beam gave me the greatest pre-baby gift possible - the ADCH! He can now continue to just be awesome, just be him, with very little pressure. He also gained a Steeple and Biathlon Q despite some wardrobe malfunctions (shirt not staying over the bump and the pants headed south, whoops!), so progress towards nationals. Love my boy dog for sure. Not an easy journey for him and figuring out what made him tick, but so worth it. He still does a head check on almost every start line, but he's giving me oomph and focus and working hard. That's all I ask for.

Finally got around to making videos again - so thankful for videos from Tripod!!

The big other goal of the weekend (besides not passing out or f*cking up scoring, ha, neither of which I was really concerned about, but ya know...) was to get as many tournament Q's for Yankee, so I had less stress post baby of getting her ready for Cyno next year. I will drop her back to Performance after next years, pending she remains awesome at 18" this competition year. And she was fantastic. Team Q and 1st place. Biathlon Q. Steeplechase Q. And Grand Prix remains our nemesis :) Turns out she also had 2 ribs out, so glad I had her worked on by Maddy and the chiropractor lady (I wanted to say girl, because she's so young!). Snooker is still my favorite to run with her, gah, love love love this dog. And she has been so happy and sassy since Sunday, I think she's just feeling good. ::pitterpatter::

Peach, aww Peachy Pie. We have some contact and start lines to work during maternity leave. Time to pull out the elbow grease and do it, but I just love running her. It's a thrill. Her focus is really coming nicely - much less frustration barking / biting, fantastic redirecting to obstacle focus, great weaves, and she's really being thoughtful about her bars. I had to make her a video too, and it turns out I chose the same song as her sister Ghost. Must've been meant to be - those two are very much adored. Our journey will be no easier than Beams or Yankees or Lus, but will be amazing nonetheless. Speaking of LuLu, his mom came to visit with her parents, and once again, I came away in awe of them and how loved he is and am so grateful I was brave when he needed me to be. So much gratitude.
