USDAA at Ridgefield .. the trial before THE trial

Cynosport is on my brain, but the baby dog doesn't get to play at Nationals, so this weekend was all about enjoying local peeps, our timing, and PEACHY PIE. (Gah she makes me giddy) Weather was hot, but I didn't suffer too much in my pants and the cool mornings made up for it. I <3 doing score table with Bonnie and Megan and Teri. Efficient, fast, and FUN. My kind of peeps. And they let me bitch about lots of things, bawahahahah. We're a good team though, for sure. Travis sent me adorable Lucero and Dixie photos over the weekend, so that always makes me happy.

the trial results

Yankee continues her reign of international queen, sneaking in some fast times when she does NOT look fast. Here's the thing though that gets me. She is right up there with the big dogs on her times, yet *I* am running almost her path cause the girl is super sticky. So *I* am running those times. UGH! Keeps me in shape I suppose, but yeah, distance with Peach is my friend ;) We're enjoying the 18" jump height, especially when we only have 1 dog to compete against in steeplechase :) It was a great weekend, though not sure we'll ever get consistent contacts. My fault, but yeah, we know where my priority in training is I suppose. I do have that contact envy though. :) I am super excited about Biathalon at Nationals. Its just the class I enjoy the most, so wheeee!!

Beam was superb this weekend. Happy, fast, sassy. My favorite boy LOVES his Christmas bikini clad rubber chicken. He's become such an icon at local trials carrying around his rubber chicken, and oh dear doG watch out when he's running to it post run. But it works, and that makes me oh so happy. Funny that all 3 dogs failed the tire on Sunday morning as the first obstacle .. both Beam and Yankee ran under it with a 1 obstacle lead out, and Peach broke through it (though to be fair, she was HIGH and the rest of her run, was ... hilarious?!). Beam did get 2nd in GP, which I was very proud of him for, because his time was excellent. I also accidentally whacked him in the mouth in gamblers, ouch for both of us :( THEN he decided to send out to the jump, but was over time. Ah well, we'll get gamblers eventually :)

And the Peachy Pie. Such a fun journey. Can't get a starters standard Q to save our life, but jumpers is looking good, 4th place in Steeple finals with a very respectable time (though 3 bars), LOVELY snookers run with to die for weaves, and holding her in pairs while our partner went first went spectacularly. *snicker* I know I rarely say it, but gah I love this dog. Love her independence, her crazies, her figuring things out. We're going to try out Biathalon at RAT in November, just to see what I got. And cause entering all of the starters games classes doesn't do it for me :)

Hopefully one of these trials we'll have a photographer, so I can have some of my first Peachy Pie competition photos <3
