Let's make the shit sandwich. The bread is the good and the meat is the .. uh, shit. My old boss used to tell me about that for all sorts of fun situations :) Luckily the whole sandwich is fantastic when it's Peachy Pie, but yeah, we have things to work on. And it's good.
The Bread
Peach is ah-mazing.
The Meat (where do I start??)
- I'm still wishy washy on contacts - mostly due to my brain being absolutely full and not having any time to watch any videos and read old journals, but it's coming. Til then, I've been retraining the 2o2o (that she learned once upon a time when she was a baby - maybe at 11 weeks?). It's going great, except it has taught me a HUGE lesson ....
- Peach works *excruciatingly* slow for food, and lovely fast for toys. Huh. Never realized that before. Realized this when I tried to do her 2o2o with food, went to some weaves (and didn't grab a toy), and they were PATHETIC. So, yeah, good to know! Peachy needs her gear up with a toy.
- Peach's teeter is slow. And it's bugging me.
- I think I need to ignore the teeter for awhile (not avoid it, just let her get super comfortable with it).
- 12 weaves fell apart last week a bit (mostly popping out at pole 10), so I decided to work entries on 6's this week. I think it was a fantastic move, as she is looking spectacular!
- Her hard sided entries are definitely her strong suit. We have better soft-sided entries in sequence than from the flat, and I can count on them to 11 o'clock, but they go downwards significantly. This is quite interesting as progressing through 2x2's it was the hard sided entries that she struggled with. Oh well, we're working them, and she's making progress!
- We played with Ann and Frisco doing some pairs today - ooh, Peachy gets a bit stimulated when another dog runs. Very interesting. I think it also led to some freakish handling on my part. We will start really pushing this skill, so we'll be ready for October CAT!
- A-frame and Table are almost here, so so so very excited.
The Bread
I am head over heels for my Peachy Pie.
I will not admit to how many times I have watched
this video of her over and over, but it sure makes everything better.
