A BAAD weekend, that was actually very very good

A small small trial that was awesome - everyone should be going to BAAD in Bend. Why?

1. It's Bend - so gorgeous.
2. Good *good* people.
3. It's USDAA .. need I say more? ;) Yes, I am a USDAA snob, but eh, I love the courses, what can I say :)

Dogs ran well as soon as Beam got out his "this is a new place" slow running in GP on Saturday morning. Sigh. This dog, someday I'll figure him out. BUT he ended his Jumpers curse and won round 2 of Steeplechase (albeit there wasn't a ton of competition and he did this despite falling under a jump, not knocking the bar, and retaking it. Bawahahahahah!! It's always something!! Yankee, damn, it's just SO.FUN. Exhilarating to step to the line with her, every single time. If I do my job, we're golden. Well, except her contacts - that is our summer project before Nationals!

I'm at the point where I buy the unique photos .. shots I don't have ...

like Yankee using the teeter as a diving board

and Beam showing off his super happy and speedy teeter yet still staying on it (ahem, Yankee!!)

and it's been awhile since I had a good broad jump photo and look at my girl FLY. ::pitterpatter::

Almost all of my video footage was of the blue girl - small trials = not a lot of hands to video. I'm very thankful to a few friendly folks who helped me out, I always learn so much!

Yankee's Snooker run - not a lot of greedy folks in this crowd, but I still had fun seeing how many points we could earn. I ended up switching my plan from 2 7's (weaves) and 1 6 (tunnels + jump) to 2 6's and 1 7 just to save her on the weaves. It worked brilliantly, though I had to warn the judge as I led out I was going to run her over. Yankee's skills to call past obstacles is very useful - such a good girlie :)

And Beam's Jumpers run! Turns were not quite as tight as I know he can give, but he didn't quit on me. The blind cross out of the tunnel at the end caused him to almost go to wide and miss the jump, so I need to be more thoughtful about what the dog sees as they exit .. I think the FC would've helped him realize to turn more. Aw well, things to practice :)

Hmm,, what else?! Lots of wedding planning this weekend - got my dress, sent it off to be a little bit altered - lots of Peach 2x2 training, dinner with great people on Saturday night, dogs got to do great swimming and Peach has an impressive rolling skillz in the manure piles (I must video it, because it's HILARIOUS!). All in all - so very thankful.

And I have to say, it was pretty fun to say at the trial "oh, I'm staying at my future in-laws place." IN-LAWS"s - GAH!! :)

PS: Can't forget about these photos ....

This is the view of the 3 Sisters - they just baled hay on Sunday and you can see the Two Bulls fire just to the left. CRAZY!!

And the dogs showing off their swimming pond and our wedding site :) 39 days!!
