Puppies have gone from "I'm not so sure of the linoleum floor and walking carefully" to "skidding across it on muffin tins" in just 4 days. Puppies have hit that super fun stage! Thankfully they nap just as hard. It always amazes me how fast they continue to develop. Super fun to watch their personalities come about.
As I see glimmers of their adult personalities come through, my predictions and observations still hold true. Lucy is super happy go lucky, and probably is the most easy going along with Charlie. Patty is still the party girl, though she didn't show that off too much with the visit yesterday. I thought I was seeing a bit of Ghost's (Blueberry) personality come through in her of wildness, but she seems a tiny bit more easy going. Sally continues to be a bit reserved, but I'm loving her recovery rate. I think as long as she gets the time she needs to soak in a situation and tons of positive exposure in her first year, she'll be just fine. She's a super playful girl, just not the first to jump in.
I weighed all of the puppies a few nights ago .. all hovering around 70 oz and it said Sally was the largest! WHAT?! I still don't believe it, but haven't been motivated to weigh them again. My little chunky puppies, 4.4 lbs at 30 days old. Last year I weighed the litter at 26 days and they were 57-60 oz, so this year's litter is definitely larger. Everyone has had their nails dremeled 3x now, with not a peep. I would've never guessed that using the dremel on the babies was so much easier than clippers, but it is, by far. They have also officially bit through Yankee's tender area around her nipples, which I think is speeding up the weaning process. Thankfully it happened much later (and to a much lesser degree) this year than last year, so I can easily just give the more solids.
