The other night, Beam couldn't hold it, and had an accident. It actually looked like he dripped from one end of the house to another. Since it was early enough and the drips were small enough, everything crusted to the floor over the next several hours. It's events like this that make you wake up to the slightest of whines at 5:30 am. And then you can't get back to sleep. And then all of the dogs want up. And then you notice how your neighbor's dog won't stop barking at 6:15 am reacting to everything it can see after they have thrown it in a too large of a back yard with a see through fence. And then you do the dishes. Why? Cause you're awake. The coffee is not helping the daze. But slowly I am fully waking up. Then you type bah instead of gah and you wonder if either are technical terms and can be used interchangeably for the same annoying feeling that you are awake way too early. bah gah.
Each new dog seems to get privileges the puppy before never got. Case in point? Puppy Peach gets to be on the couch when uninvited and a human is not there with her. Couch privileges have slowly increased with each dog, and we're to the point that we need leather couches. Of course everyone else knows to wait until we are sleeping to be on the couch. For now.
She is my perfect puppy, my little Peachy Pie, except those recalls. We're working them, but dang she is independent. I know I will love this trait later, so we just keep working this skill :) Currently, our basic recall to anywhere from the backyard, she does one of the following. 1. Lays down about 40' from me. 2. Sits down about 40' from me. 3. Runs deep into the pasture (even taking the long mowed loop the other day!) 4. Comes within 2' of me and runs away 5. Comes with me. And ya never know which one you are gonna get. Cheeky girl. :) She is still little enough I can cuddle her and squish her as much as I want. She let me dremel all of her nails yesterday. Her canines are completely swapped out and she's had a bloody mouth for 3 days as her molars are starting to fall out and come in. I'm avoiding any serious tugging, since I can see her teeth are sore when she's eating.
Check out her brother Baru? I love him!! Gangly as ever, but his head sure is looking like a dog and not a puppy. I love that tiny little stripe too. And the spots on his feet!!! Gah. :)
What's the benefit of getting up this early? You can go through photos you forgot about from 10 days ago, which really does feel like a long time ago ... I really need to go rent the tractor and mow the field .. grass is getting a bit obnoxious without Jack to mow it :/
Beam likes to sleep under the couch. Except he doesn't really fit. So here is his best effort.
Peach, Beam, Lu with an awesome wink ;)
Beam laying under my sewing table chair. He gets grumpy when you make him move too. He likes to be AS.CLOSE.AS.POSSIBLE.TO.ME.AT.ALL.TIMES.
Love my Beam.
Yankee the deer - grass is definitely taller than her.
Tails vs no tails
Peach - while leggy, she is still pretty proportionate in her front and rear - think I could get her to stack like this if I tried???? :)
It's hard to keep the boys out of the stock tank after a pasture run, which is bad if they need to go in the house.
I need to work on my water photo skills
Peach has not figured out how to get in the stock tank yet. I am enjoying this fact for as long as possible.
