Looooong overdue

Been meaning to update this thing for ages. They need an app that just takes the thoughts from your brain and puts them on here for you....hmm on 2nd thought maybe not!

Anyway Silverstone!! Seems like ages ago now but what a fab weekend. Got up there Thursday at just after 10. Rob had his tent up already and before I could start putting mine up I had a bacon roll as he'd got the stone on the go already! Put up Mikes tent and my gazeebo and then realised that I didn't really have enough decent tent pegs left to put up Fran's tent so reorganised it so Fran shared with me and Mike shared with Rob. Might actually finally get a tent I think. Rob got his at Christimas and it only cost £70 or so and it's a decent size. I want one that you can stand up in and has a decent size living area to sit it when it rains lol.
Fran got there just after 5 and it had started raining by then but it was just drizzly stuff really. We all went over to the circuit for 7pm to watch the Sky F1 show. Bit of a shame they didn't have any current drivers there but we had such a laugh jeering on the team personnel running the track.
Friday we all sort of headed our separate ways. I went to watch FP1 from Village. Not that there was too much to see cos it rained and not many cars came out but I got a few photos. Then managed to bump in to helen_t in pretty much the same spot as last year! Met up with Rob at Copse and then watched FP2 from Woodcote. Got a really good spot right at the end of Wellington straight. Mike managed to make it for FP2 aswell so we met up with him and Si and Tina afterwards. Watched a bit of GP2 but then I went back to the campsite for a shower. Got really drunk on the Friday night. Not even sure how I did it but drank way too much whisky and the next thing I knew I woke up in the tent at 3am thinking how the hell did I get here!!
Surprised them all with how perky I was the next day although to be fair i was feeling a bit rough and needed quite a bit of caffeine and sugar before I started to feel normal. Watched FP3 from Stowe and qualy from Becketts. Was dry and sunny but there was still a cold wind. Went up to Copse again and met Rob. Fran turned up too as did Dave from the pub who appeared with a whisky and diet coke - the advantages of meeting up with your landlord - he knows what you drink! watched the GP2 and GP3 and then headed back to the campsite. Actually made it to Silverstone village in the evening. First time ever! Went to a pub for a some food. Was still feeling the effects of the night before so wasn't on as top a form as I could of been but it was a good night anyway.
Race day and I was the only one in a grandstand seat. I've dome general admission but I figure if you're going to pay all that money you may aswell make sure you have a seat and a decent view. Hottest day of the weekend. Grandstand was in the shade though which was a bit chilly but i preferred it really. Got it sorted now with dads radio and mu ear defenders so I could hear all the commentary. What a great race. Vettel slowed right in front of our grandstand. Just missed getting a photo of him walking back to his garage too. God some great views of the podium and I discovered a setting on my camera that gives me an even bigger zoom so i was able to get some good pics.....which i will get online at some point. got on the track at the end and saw sandy at mercedes. Also saw Nico with the trophy and managed to get a few pics through the fence. Went to the after race party but it was so rammed we ended up going back to the campsite.
The trouble is with Silverstone, it's over too quickly. Still it was great to be back on Litchlake and nice that there were so many of us camping together. Although there are way to many Lewis hamilton fans there I wouldn't miss it for anything.
