Cats etc.

Bloody hell it is a long time since I updated.

We went to see the rescue cat and liked her so much we brought her home the next day. She's now thoroughly at home, by which I mean she ignores her bed and sleeps on ours and tries to eat off our plates. It is lovely to have a pet again though. I would upload some pictures but am having various computer problems at the moment and I'm trying to gather up the patience to sort them out.

Spent the weekend at a family reunion for my husband's side of the family, all good fun, ate far too much and presumably drank too much given my headache this morning. I did meet some relatives who only live 5 miles from us, even better than that - they were very nice. I didn't know they existed before, apparently there was some falling out during WWII over allegations of black market dealings.

The reading is going in fits and starts, but I have now finished With the Old Breed (preferred Leckie's book, but liked this for the detail of day-to-day life) and Engleby which I found very interesting, if rather depressing. That the book manages to make you sympathise with him to some extent at least is quite an achievement. A bit like the length of this post given the difficulty I'm having with the tiny keyboard on this laptop.
