Game recap

All hail gmudemocrat, prognosticator sans comparaison! :-) I wish I had seen the game, but the highlights I've seen and the recaps I've read make it sound like it was a nailbiter, especially with Ngata taking down RG3 near the end of the game. Cousins is being described as having Larry Bird-like levels of coolness, which is awesome in any backup, ( Read more... )

Not sure if you can count the Browns as 5-8. After all their last win was against the chiefs.

I hate to say it, but I worry about the Browns game. They have played with real life the last few weeks and been able to stifle some decent ground attacks. I still think we get the W, but this one that I marked as an unquestionable victory at the start of the season has me concerned. It is the classic trap game. I am just glad that the G-Men have to work the hardest to pull off the playoff berth.

I will also say that my prognostication skill is from actually watching the games. People who only see highlights or what articles are on websites have no idea how the games are won or lost. It's why a lot of college football teams get artificially high rankings despite close wins against inferior opponents. That same reasoning is why the Falcons and Colts will be out of the playoffs before the conference championships.

I think the Redskins will be hungry enough to win against the Browns. These past few games, there has been a fire in the their bellies. Well, in the belly of the Offense and Fletcher.

Am I hopeful the Skins will make the playoffs? Shit-yeah. Am I okay if they don't? Yes, though I will pout. I've been with them too long to get my hopes too high; however, I have been wearing what my lucky Skins earrings these past four games and I will be wearing them every other game this year.

I forgot to mention that I was impressed with the poise of Cousins, but after he threw away the Falcons game, I feel he has blanked the slate and now has earned a second chance.

Also, the elephant in the room is that the Ravens D is a shadow of its former self and ranks in the 20s as far as NFL defenses this year, so with our high-powered offense and Flacco on the road, this one shouldn't have been that close.

Indeed though, mad props to Alfred Morris for outrunning the Ravens' workhorse Ray Rice.
