How often do learn that your favourite author, whose books and stories take your breath away, who explores gender, sexuality, race, anarchy, politics, utopic/dystopic futures, animal rights, etc etc etc etc in her writings in fascinating and astute ways... how often do you learn that said author also wrote your favourite children's ( Read more... )

also, ursula k. leguin, she's awesome.

i find it's not terribly uncommon that people with a good grip on humanity gravitate towards children's and adolescent work. they're usually the most likeminded audience when it comes to simple and profound human issues.
