Yesterday I tried out
this recipe for gin-and-tonic cake, which a Twitter friend passed on to me. As the name suggests, it contains both gin and tonic, as well as lime and crushed juniper berries. It may sound a bit weird, but the results are fabulous: a deliciously moist citrussy cake that tastes EXACTLY like gin and tonic. It’s almost magical. (

My parents have a lot of brambles in their hedges. Ooodles of berries, so now she makes flavoured alcohol. (Sherry is divine, am pursuading her to try flavouring Pimms this year....)
Now that I've baked cookies in the new oven (new kitchen fitted, no oven until that point), I'm tempted to try a cake!
