Only three hours left until the finale of Breaking Bad!
Alpha son and I have been binge-watching in an attempt to get caught up with Beta son in time for the finale. We watched the penultimate episode Friday night and we've been throwing theories around, ad nauseum, ever since.
The M-60 is almost certainly intended for Uncle Jack and his band of merry Nazis, but what about the ricin?? Is it for Jack as well? For Gretchen and Elliot, in return for a life of perceived slights and underachievement? For Lydia? He does know the restaurant where she likes to go for a cup of tea (he was there in the flash-forward; it's where he met arms dealer/Bobby Singer.). He knows she's obsessive about her tea - exactly the same way every time; is he going to slip the ricin in her stevia?
What will happen to Skyler and the kids? Personally, I would LOVE to see Skyler go to prison and the kids go to Marie. That would be the perfect ending for all of them. Marie adores the kids, and now that Hank is gone, she needs family. Skyler may talk a good game, but she's no angel. Two words: Ted Benecke. And let's not forget that she's the one that convinced Walt that Jesse had to die! Walt was fine with trying to work it out with him, but Skyler said he had to go.
Which leads me to the most important string left to tie up: Jesse. Will he die? Escape? Will Walt save him? Will Jesse get a chance to see Todd suffer? I fervently hope so.
And finally, Walt. I can't decide whether I want him to get away or not. Even if he does, he won't live long enough to get much more out of life. I'm completely ambivalent about him.
In other news, I have continued to lose weight! I've lost four more lbs. in the last week, and I'm feeling great. Today I'm wearing a pair of pants that I haven't worn in years. This is extremely gratifying, and I can't even imagine how fantastic I'm going to feel when I'm done! : )
And a question: I have no berries of any kind growing in my yard, nor are there berries in the surrounding yards. So why are the birds suddenly dropping purple bird shit all over my sidewalk and car??? This is a mystery I'd love to solve.
